Logging In to Linux HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs Using VNC

If your ECSs use passwords for login authentication, you can log in to your ECSs using VNC provided by the portal.

Prerequisites

  • You have applied for a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS.
  • A HUAWEI CLOUD ECS to be logged in to must be in the Running state.

    You can change the ECS status by performing operations such as starting or stopping the ECS. For detailed operations, see section Basic Management Operations.

  • If the user password is customized when you apply for the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS, you are advised to log in to the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS 5 minutes after the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS is successfully applied for.

Procedure

  1. Use a browser to log in to the ManageOne operation plane as a VDC administrator, a VDC operator, or an agent administrator.

    In the non-B2B scenario, the login address format is https://Address for accessing the Console page, for example, https://console.type.com.

    In the B2B scenario, the login address format is https://Address used by VDC users to access the ManageOne operation plane, for example, https://console.type.com.

  2. In the left part of the main menu, select a region and a project.
  1. Choose Console > Computing > Elastic Cloud Server(HWS) from the main menu.
  2. In the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS list, select the desired HUAWEI CLOUD ECS and click Remote Login, as shown in Figure 4-9.

  1. Enter the password you set during ECS creation to log in to the ECS.
  2. Initialize the data disk for the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS.

    If a data disk has been added to the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS, you must initialize the data disk before using it. For details, see section Initializing the Data Disk (in the Linux OS).
