Managing HUAWEI CLOUD EVS Disks

Managing HUAWEI CLOUD EVS Disks

After applying for a HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disk, you can manage it on the ManageOne operation plane, including attaching it to a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS, detaching it from a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS, adjusting its capacity, modifying its basic information, and extending or deleting it.

Context

Table 5-3 describes the management operations that can be performed on a HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disk.

Table 5-3 Description of HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disk management

Operation

Description

Detaching

If the system disk or data disk is no longer used, you can detach it from the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS.

Expanding

You can expand the capacity of the HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disk once it is insufficient. You must detach the HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disk if it has been attached to a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS and then expand the disk capacity.

Modifying basic information

You can modify the name and remarks of a HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disk.

Extending

If the HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disk is about to expire and you still need to use it, you can extend it.

Deleting

If the HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disk is no longer used, you can delete it to the recycle bin.

You can choose Console > Mgmt & Deployment > Recycle Bin to perform operations on the deleted HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disk.

Procedure

  1. Use a browser to log in to the ManageOne operation plane as a VDC administrator, a VDC operator, or an agent administrator.

    Description

    Detaching

    1. Click the name of the desired HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disk to go to the details page. On the Mount Point tab page, select the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS whose EVS disk needs to be detached, and click Detach.
    2. In the displayed dialog box, click OK. After the system is ready, click OK in the displayed dialog box to go to the Task Center page to view the detaching task execution status.
    • You need to stop the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS before detaching its system disk. This requirement does not apply to data disk detaching.
    • If multiple HUAWEI CLOUD EVS disks are attached to a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS, do not detach them randomly. Otherwise, the attach information in the EVS disk list may be inconsistent with that on the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS. Detach the EVS disks in the reverse order of the attach sequence.
      NOTE:

On the Disk tab page of the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS, you can determine the attaching sequence based on the Attaching Info field in the details of each EVS disk.
