Creating a Product

Creating a Product

Administrators can create products, except preset products, that meet service requirements so that users can apply for the products.

Currently, common products, such as ECS and EVS, can be created.

Prerequisites

  • You have obtained the username and password of an operation administrator, a VDC administrator, or an agent administrator.
  • Before creating an offline service product, you need to create an approval process for the Apply for approval item.

Procedure

  1. Use a browser to log in to the ManageOne operation plane as an operation administrator, a VDC administrator, or an agent administrator.

In the non-B2B scenario, the login address format is https://Address for accessing the Console page, for example, https://console.type.com.

In the B2B scenario, the address format for login as the operation administrator is https://Address used by the operation administrator to access the ManageOne operation plane, for example, https://adminconsole.type.com.

In the B2B scenario, the address format for login as the VDC user is https://Address used by the VDC user to access the ManageOne operation plane, for example, https://console.type.com.

  2. Go to the Product Management page.

    • Operation administrators: Choose System > Product Management from the main menu.
    • VDC administrators or agent administrators: Choose VDC > Product Management from the main menu.

  3. Select a region and a project from the drop-down box in the upper left corner of the page.
  4. In the navigation pane, choose Product type > Product.

For example, to create an ECS, choose Computing > Elastic Cloud Server(HWS).

  5. Click Create Product.
  6. On the displayed page, set the parameters as prompted.

Table 9-1 describes the parameters for creating the product.

    Table 9-1 Parameter description

    Product Type

    Product Name

    Parameter Type

    Parameter Name

    Description

    Computing

    Elastic Cloud Service(HWS)

    Basic Information

    Product Name

    Indicates the ECS name.

    Description

Indicates the description of the ECS.

    Product Parameter Configuration

    Availability Zone

Select the AZ where the ECS is located.

    • Lock: An administrator selects an AZ when creating the VRM ECS.
    • User-defined: A user specifies an AZ when applying for the ECS.

    ECS Specifications

Define ECS flavors, such as ECS Type, vCPU, and Memory.

    • Lock: An administrator sets ECS Type, vCPU, and Memory when creating the ECS.

You can select General computing, Memory-optimized, or other values for ECS Type as needed.

    • User-defined: A user specifies the ECS flavors when applying for the ECS.

    Image

Indicates the image used to create the ECS.

    • Lock: An administrator selects the image type and image when creating the ECS.
    • User-defined: A user specifies an image when applying for the ECS.

    Storage

    Elastic Volume Service(HWS)

    Basic Information

    Product Name

    Indicates the EVS disk name.

    Description

    Describes the EVS disk.

    Product Parameter Configuration

    Availability Zone

Indicates the AZ where the EVS disk is to be created. You can set this parameter to one of the following values:

    • Lock: An administrator can select the AZ when creating the EVS disk.
    • User-defined: A user specifies the AZ when applying for the EVS disk.

    Storage Capacity

Indicates the storage capacity of the EVS disk. You can set this parameter to one of the following values:

    • Lock: An administrator can customize the storage capacity as needed.
    • User-defined: A user specifies the storage capacity when applying for the EVS disk.

    Storage Type

Indicates the storage type of the EVS disk. You can set this parameter to one of the following values:

    • Lock: An administrator can select Non-shared or Shared when creating the EVS disk. If Shared is selected, the EVS disk can be attached to multiple ECSs at a time.
    • User-defined: A user specifies the storage type when applying for the EVS disk.

    Disk Type

This parameter is optional. Indicates the disk type of the EVS disk. The disk type can be selected during disk creation. A disk type defines a set of capabilities of the backend storage to be used for the disk.

    • Lock: An administrator can customize the disk type as needed.
    • User-defined: A user specifies the disk type when applying for the EVS disk.

    Disk Mode

Indicates the disk mode of the EVS disk.

    • Lock: An administrator sets the disk mode when creating the EVS disk. EVS disks have two disk modes, Virtual Block Device (VBD) and Small Computer System Interface (SCSI).
      • If you select VBD, you will apply for a VBD-type EVS disk.
      • If you select SCSI, you will apply for a SCSI-type EVS disk. SCSI-type disks allow the ECS OS to directly access the underlying storage media and support advanced SCSI commands compared with VBD-type disks.
    • User-defined: A user specifies the disk mode when applying for the EVS disk.

  7. Click Create.

The system automatically returns to the page of the corresponding product. If the new product is displayed on the page, the product has been created.
