Basic Management Operations

After applying for a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS, you can perform basic management operations, such as starting, stopping, and deleting the ECS.

Procedure

  1. Use a browser to log in to the ManageOne operation plane as a VDC administrator, a VDC operator, or an agent administrator.

    In the non-B2B scenario, the login address format is https://Address for accessing the Console page, for example, https://console.type.com.

    In the B2B scenario, the login address format is https://Address used by VDC users to access the ManageOne operation plane, for example, https://console.type.com.

  2. In the left part of the main menu, select a region and a project.
  1. Choose Console > Computing > Elastic Cloud Server(HWS) from the main menu. In the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS list, select the management operation you want to perform, as shown in Figure 4-14.

    Export

    1. Click in the upper right corner to set the range of the information to be exported. Select a desired HUAWEI CLOUD ECS, click Export in the upper left corner, and click Confirm to create an export task.
    2. After the export task is created, click Confirm to go to the Task Center page. After the export status is Successful, you can click Download on the right of the task bar to download the exported file.

    You can export information about HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs in batches. If you do not select a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS, the information about all HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs in the list is exported.

    Start

    1. Select desired HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs and click Start in the upper left corner.
    2. Click Confirm to confirm the startup. After the system is ready, click Confirm in the displayed dialog box. On the displayed Task Center page, wait until the startup task is complete.

    You can start HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs that are not in the Running state in batches. To avoid heavier host load, you are advised to start multiple ECSs on the same host in different batches.

    Stop

    1. Select desired HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs and click Stop in the upper left corner.
    2. Click Confirm to confirm the stop. After the system is ready, click Confirm in the displayed dialog box. On the displayed Task Center page, wait until the stop task is complete.

    You can stop HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs that are in the Running state in batches. To avoid heavier host load, you are advised to stop multiple ECSs on the same host in different batches.

    Restart

    1. Select desired HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs and click Restart in the upper left corner.
    2. Click Confirm to confirm the restart. After the system is ready, click Confirm in the displayed dialog box. On the displayed Task Center page, wait until the restart task is complete.

    You can restart HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs that are in the Running state in batches. To avoid heavier host load, you are advised to restart multiple ECSs on the same host in different batches.

    Forcibly Restart

    1. Select desired HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs and click Forcibly Restart under More in the upper left corner.
    2. Click Confirm to confirm the forcible restart. After the system is ready, click Confirm in the displayed dialog box. On the displayed Task Center page, wait until the forcible restart task is complete.

    Forcibly restarting a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS may cause damage to disks. Therefore, exercise caution when performing this operation.

    You can forcibly restart HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs that are in the Running or Restarting state in batches. To avoid heavier host load, you are advised to forcibly restart multiple ECSs on the same host in different batches.

    Delete

    1. Select desired HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs and click Delete under More in the upper left corner.
    2. Click Confirm to confirm the deletion. After the system is ready, click Confirm in the displayed dialog box to go to the My Orders page and view the order execution result.

    If a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS is no longer used or is forcibly reclaimed, you need to delete it.

    After a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS is deleted, it is stored in the recycle bin. You can choose Mgmt & Deployment > Recycle Bin to restore or completely delete it.
    NOTE:

    When a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS is deleted, the bound cloud services will not be deleted. When a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS is completely deleted, the bound cloud services will be deleted. For details, see What Do "Delete" and "Permanently Delete" Mean?

    Change

    1. Select desired HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs and click Change under More.

    2. In the displayed dialog box, set the change information, click Submit, and then click Confirm.

    3. In the displayed dialog box, click Confirm to go to the My Orders page to view the execution result.

    You can apply for changing the specifications and NIC information of a HUAWEI CLOUD ECS. Specifications of only the ECSs in the Stopped state can be changed.

    Extend

    1. Select desired HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs and click Extend under More.

    2. In the displayed dialog box, set the extension period and click Confirm.

    3. In the displayed dialog box, click Confirm to go to the My Orders page to view the execution result.

    You can apply for extending multiple HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs at a time.
