(Optional) Configuring the Southbound IP Address

If the network needs to be divided into the southbound network (where devices are located) and northbound network (where upper-layer NMS, third-party systems, and clients are located) or the southbound IP address is changed, you need to adapt the southbound IP address.

Prerequisites

Southbound IP addresses have been configured for the bond2 network ports of the active and standby servers as planned. For details, see How to Set the Network Adapter Binding (SUSE Linux). Slave network adapters corresponding to the bond2 network port have been connected to the southbound network.

Context

  • The multi-subnet management function of eSight conflicts with the southbound and northbound service isolation function. If the southbound and northbound service isolation function is enabled, the multi-subnet management function cannot be enabled.
  • In the southbound and northbound isolation scenario, the web management function under Device Config > Web NMS is unavailable for network devices.
  • After the IP address of eSight is modified, the IP address of eSight must be modified accordingly on devices connecting to eSight.
    • Unified communications devices: CC solution, ECS, IAD, eSpace U2900, eSpace USM, VTC, SBC (SX Series).
    • Telepresence meeting devices: MCU.
  • After the IP address of eSight is modified, the IP addresses for servers and the IP addresses for PON devices connecting to eSight to report alarms must be modified accordingly.
  • After the southbound and northbound service isolation is configured, the northbound network cannot directly access NEs on the southbound network. NEs are isolated from other network devices during network design, enhancing the protection for NEs and reducing the risks that NEs are attacked by other networks.
  • The eLTE device management component manages industry terminals, base stations, and service engines. The multi-subnet function needs to be enabled. The southbound and northbound isolation scenario is not supported.
  • After configuring the southbound IP address, you need to modify SNMP parameters of the FusionSphere accordingly and send the parameter settings to the OpenStack OM.
    • Set Alarm source address to OM Network Floating IP Address.
    • Select Synchronize SNMP Trap Settings to OpenStack OM.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the active server as the root user and run the following command:

    # hagrp -offline AppService -sys Host name of the active server

    Run the following command to query the AppService resource status. Perform subsequent operations after ensuring that the resource status is displayed as OFFLINE:

    # hagrp -state AppService -sys Host name of the active server

  2. Run the following command to bring the mountFileRes resource of the active server online:

    # hares -online mountFileRes -sys Host name of the active server

  3. Switch to the ossuser user.

    # su - ossuser

  4. Run the following commands:

    > cd /opt/eSight/mttools/tools

    > sh hatool.sh southip

    Start Config southip... 
    Enter 'y' to apply the enable of South IP or 'n' to disable (y/n)

  5. Enter y and set the southbound IP address, NIC, and subnet mask as prompted.

    If the following information is displayed, the configuration is successful:

    Please input south floatip address: 
    192.168.3.162 
    Please input south ip network card: 
    bond2 
    Please input south ip netmask: 
    255.255.255.0 
    start add VCS resouce... 
    end add VCS resouce... 
    Config southip finish...

  6. Run the following command to bring the AppService resource offline:

    > hagrp -offline AppService -sys Host name of the active server

  7. Log in to the standby server as the ossuser user and repeat 1 through 6.
  8. Log in to the standby server as the root user and Run the following command to bring the AppService resource online:

    # hagrp -online AppService -sys Host name of the active server
