Rolling Back Security Hardening

Rolling Back Security Hardening

After security hardening rollback, system parameters are restored to settings before the security hardening.

Prerequisites

  • eSight has been stopped. For details, see Stopping the eSight Service.
  • Only the root user has logged in to the user desktop (such as the management network interface and VNC). If a non-root user logs in to the user desktop, log out first.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the SUSE Linux operating system as the ossuser user.
  2. Switch to the root user.

    > su - root

  3. Run the following command to roll back security hardening:

    # sek -r all

After the rollback is complete, the rollback result is displayed. If the value of Total Policies Failed is not 0, check the failure cause and rectify the fault as prompted.

The value of Rollback Not Supported indicates the number of security hardening items that do not support rollback.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
            Summary of rollback
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
            Total Policies rollback :65
            Total Policies Success :43
            Total Policies Failed :0
            Rollback Not Supported :22

  4. Run the following commands to restart the operating system for the rollback to take effect:

    # sync;sync;sync;sync

    # shutdown -r now
