To fulfill performance and functions of eSight, ensure long-term secure, stable, and reliable system operation, and reduce maintenance costs, maintenance personnel must take the following precautions before performing preventive maintenance.

Network Security

  • Only authorized personnel can access the eSight server.
  • Do not install or run non-standard software (such as firewall, antivirus, game, and pirated software) on the eSight server.
  • Do not access the Internet or play games using the terminals on the local area network (LAN) to prevent viruses and unauthorized accesses.
  • Do not connect storage media (such as laptops, personal disks, and test instruments) to the LAN.

System Security

  • Strictly control the enabling of network services.
  • Regularly monitor the network connection status and ensure that access is authorized.
  • Keep the administration-level passwords secure and periodically change user passwords.
  • Strictly manage users' roles. Ensure that users attached to different roles have only the minimum permissions for accessible resources.
  • Give full attention to routine maintenance, perform routine checks and tests by following related manuals, and record the results. All major operations, such as restarting services, switching the server, and loading software, are controlled.
  • Before performing major operations, check that the operations are feasible, data has been backed up, and emergency and security measures are ready. Major operations must be performed by experienced engineers. Do not power off or restart the system unless otherwise required.
  • If issues occur during maintenance, maintenance personnel must record all raw data and contact the regional office of Huawei or Huawei technical support in a timely manner.
  • If emergencies occur, maintenance personnel must follow the emergency handling process and contact the regional office of Huawei or Huawei technical support immediately.
  • Use only the software provided by Huawei to access or modify the database. If you use other software, unpredictable consequences may arise.

Data security

  • Strictly follow the backup plan to regularly back up system data.
  • Authorize and restrict modifications to important data. Maintenance personnel must record the operation results and back up data in advance.
