Troubleshooting Faults

Troubleshooting Faults

This topic describes the general procedure for troubleshooting eSight faults. Troubleshooting faults is to take some corrective actions to ensure that the eSight recovers from system failures

The procedure is as follows:

  1. If an alarm occurs, you can handle the alarm according to the instructions described in the equipment troubleshooting manual.
  2. If no alarm is reported, you can handle the current fault based on the maintenance experience and troubleshooting cases.
  3. If the current fault needs to be handled by field engineers, you need to inform them and provide guidance related to the fault.
  4. You need to check whether the fault is rectified. If the fault is not rectified, you need to contact high-level technical support.

When users cannot rectify a fault and seek help from Huawei, you need to complete the following preparation activities:

  • Collect necessary fault information
  • Make preparations for debugging

During troubleshooting, you might be instructed to perform certain operations by Huawei technical support engineers to further collect the fault information or directly rectify the fault. Therefore, before you contact Huawei technical support engineers, get the preparations ready.
