Locating Faults

This section describes the procedure for locating a fault. Fault locating is to find the root causes using various methods to analyze and compare possible causes.

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Check whether an alarm occurs.
    • If an alarm occurs, handle the fault based on alarm details and proposed repair actions.
    • If no alarm occurs, you need to check whether the fault is a common fault based on the symptom. If it is a common fault, rectify it according to the solution in FAQs.
  2. Contact Huawei technical support engineers or use other methods to locate the fault. Before you contact Huawei technical support engineers, see Collecting Fault Information to collect detailed fault information and get the debugging preparations ready.
