Starting and Stopping the eSight Process Using the Maintenance Tool

Before using the maintenance tool to restore and upgrade eSight and change the database password, you must use the maintenance tool to stop the eSight process. If you stop the eSight process using other methods, the maintenance tool process will also be stopped. The maintenance tool can start and stop eSight or a component of eSight (including only the management platform and NTC component).

Windows operating system

Execute the start-sysmon.bat script in the eSight installation directory/mttools/bin directory on the slave server.

Linux operating system

Execute the start-sysmon.sh script in the eSight installation directory/mttools/bin directory on the slave server.

Context

This topic only describes how to start and stop the eSight process in a single-node system. Other scenarios are as follows:

Procedure

  1. Choose System > Start and Stop NMS from the main menu.
  2. On the Start and Stop NMS page, click Start or Stop in the Operate column to start or stop eSight or a single process.

    NOTE:
    • Click the server IP address and view basic information about the server on the system monitoring page.
    • During eSight startup or stopping, eSight startup is not affected when the page for starting and stopping eSight is switched.
