High CPU or Memory Usage

High CPU or Memory Usage

If the CPU or memory usage is too high, check the server hardware configuration and set the maximum server memory of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 R2 for troubleshooting. The maximum server memory is the largest memory space that can be allocated to the Microsoft SQL Server 2012 R2 database when the database is starting or running. Set the maximum server memory of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 R2 to ensure that the Agile Controller-Campus has sufficient memory.

Context

Set the maximum server memory of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 R2 when the memory usage is too high. For details, see Configuring the Maximum Server Memory for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 R2.

Procedure

  1. Check the hardware configuration of the server running the Windows operating system where the Agile Controller-Campus is installed.

    1. Log in to Windows Server 2012 R2 using the administrator account and check the CPU and memory information on the hardware server. On the PC desktop, click Start, right-click Computer, and choose Properties.

    2. Double-click Computer and check the hard disk information. The hard disk capacity is the total capacity of all disks.

    3. Click Network and Sharing Center and then dawang to check the network adapter speed.

  2. Check the hardware configuration of the server running the Linux operating system where the Agile Controller-Campus is installed.

    1. Log in to SUSE Linux 11 using the root account and check the CPU information on the hardware server. Enter the cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep "model name" command and press Enter. The CPU information of the server is displayed.

    2. Enter the free -g command and press Enter. The memory information of the server is displayed.

    3. Enter the df -m command and press Enter. The hard disk information of the server is displayed.

    4. Enter the ethtool eth0 command and press Enter. The network adapter information of the server is displayed.

  3. Check software and hardware configuration requirements based on the eSight version. If the hardware configurations of a hardware server do not meet the requirements, replace the server with a new one.
