Querying eSight Server Operation Logs

Querying eSight Server Operation Logs

When you need to audit server execution, you can use this function to view the eSight server execution.


On Windows, perform operations as the Administrator user. On Linux, perform operations as the ossuser user.


The log may use personal information of users when providing services or maintenance. Therefore, you are obligated to take considerable measures, in compliance with the laws of the countries concerned and the user privacy policies of your company, to ensure that the personal data of users is fully protected.


  1. Log in to the eSight server.
  2. Go to the directory of the command execution logs to view the operation_year month day hour minute second milliseconds.log file or the log4operation-iempSystem.log.

    • Path for logs of the eSight command execution: eSight installation directory/AppBase/var/iemp/operation/operation_year month day hour minute second milliseconds.log
    • Path for logs of command execution on the maintenance tool: eSight installation directory/mttools/var/iemp/operation/operation_year month day hour minute second milliseconds.log

      Table 6-2 describes the paths for the upgrade and rollback command execution logs of the maintenance tool.

    1. Open the command-line interface (CLI) and run the eventvwr command.
    2. In the Event Viewer, view logs in Windows Logs > Application.



    • Operation logs inside the eSight framework module: eSight installation directory/AppBase/var/iemp/operation/log4operation-iempSystem.log
