Customizing the Warnings upon Login to eSight

Customizing the Warnings upon Login to eSight

Context

After a user successfully logs in to eSight, eSight displays the security warning. In an HA system, you need to perform operations in this section on both the active and standby servers.

Procedure

  • Windows operating system
    1. Log in to the eSight server as the Administrator user.
      NOTE:

If security hardening has been performed for the Windows operating system, you need to log in to the server as the SWMaster user.

    2. Open the eSight installation directory/AppBase/etc/oms.sm/sm.xml configuration file, set oms/showLoginWarn/isEnable to true, and save the file. If the parameter does not exist, add the parameter.
    3. Set the warning information.
      1. Use a tool to convert warning information to Unicode characters.
        NOTE:
      1. Create the banner_zh_CN.properties file in the eSight installation directory/AppBase/app/com.huawei.oms.app.login/repository/extension/i18n/ui directory, add the resource item com.huawei.oms.login.warn.message= post-transcoding warning information to the file, and save the file.
        NOTE:
        • Do not change the default internationalization resource key com.huawei.oms.login.warn.message.
        • The warning information can contain a maximum of 1024 characters.

For example, if the warning message is "Do not allow unauthorized access":

        Enter com.huawei.oms.login.warn.message=\u7981\u6b62\u975e\u6388\u6743\u767b\u5f55 in the file.

    4. Restart eSight.
  • Linux operating system
    1. Log in to the eSight server as the ossuser user.
    2. Run the vi command to open the eSight installation directory/AppBase/etc/oms.sm/sm.xml file.

      vi eSight installation directory/AppBase/etc/oms.sm/sm.xml

    3. Set oms/showLoginWarn/isEnable to true. If the parameter does not exist, add the parameter.
    4. Press Esc and enter :wq! to save the settings and exit the file.
    5. Set the warning information.
      1. Use a tool to convert warning information to Unicode characters.
      NOTE:
      1. Create the banner_zh_CN.properties file in the eSight installation directory/AppBase/app/com.huawei.oms.app.login/repository/extension/i18n/ui directory, add the resource item com.huawei.oms.login.warn.message= post-transcoding warning information to the file, and save the file.
