  2. Enable Monitor Status for the IP phone group.

    NOTE:
    • To enable eSight to monitor IP phone alarms by group, you must enable Monitor Status for the IP phone group. If no IP phone group is created, create an IP phone group. For details, see Managing Groups.
    • To ensure effective maintenance of IP phone alarms, you are advised to monitor less than 500 IP phones at the same time. Otherwise, a large number of IP phone alarms may be reported, deteriorating system performance and affecting normal monitoring and O&M of eSight.
    1. Choose Terminal Device Management > Resource Management > Group Management from the navigation tree on the left.
    2. Click Custom Group or IP Address Group, and select the Monitor Status check box for the target group.
    3. In the dialog box that is displayed, click Confirm.

Result

  • After you set the alarm monitoring scope and enable Monitor Status for the IP phone group, eSight monitors alarms of IP phones supporting alarm monitoring in the IP phone group. If the alarm reported by the IP phone is not in the monitoring scope configured in 1, eSight does not process the alarm.
