How Do I Do If the Connection Test Fails During Unified Communication Subnet Creation

Problem

After subnet parameters are set during unified communication subnet creation, the connection test fails. How do I do?

Solution

  • If the access agency type is CGP, troubleshoot the fault as follows:
    1. Run the ping command to check the connectivity between eSight and the CGP, ensuring that eSight can communicate with the CGP.
    2. Create an SNMPv3 user on the device LMT, and set the authentication protocol and encryption protocol to None. On the page for creating a unified communication subnet on eSight, configure interconnection information for the created SNMPv3 user, set the authentication protocol and proprietary protocol to None, and test the connection again.

If the connection test is successful, the original parameter settings are incorrect. Check whether parameter settings on the page for creating a unified communication subnet on eSight are the same as those on the device.

      NOTE:

After troubleshooting, delete the created SNMPv3 user who is insecure to avoid security risks.
