IoT Upgrade Management

You can upgrade a eLTE-IoT terminal to a later version or roll back a eLTE-IoT terminal version to an earlier version.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight client.
  • You have obtained the firmware version file for a specific eLTE-IoT model or a firmware version file for a specific eLTE-IoT model that has been created in eSight.
  • You have been assigned the operation rights.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > eLTE > Device Software Management > IoT Upgrade Management from the main menu.
  2. Click to create a task.

    1. Set Task Name, Device Type, Task Type, Scheduled Task, Scheduled Time, Activate Now, and Check Version in Set Task.
      NOTE:

      If you set Task Type to Broadcast upgrade, the Activate Now and Check Version parameters are unavailable.

      • If you set Scheduled Task to ON, set Scheduled Time manually.
      • If you set Scheduled Task to OFF, eSight performs the upgrade task immediately.
        NOTE:

        If Task Type is set to Broadcast upgrade, perform 2.b. You do not need to perform the following steps:

      • (Optional) If you set Activate Now to ON, the deployment and activation command will be sent immediately after the version file is downloaded. You can also manually perform deployment and activation on the task details page.
      • (Optional) If you set Check Version to On, devices will be filtered based on the base version of the differential upgrade package during device selection. If you set Check Version to Off, devices will not be filtered. Ensure that the differential upgrade package version can be used for upgrade.
    2. Select the target version, file type, and version information in Select File.
    3. Select devices to upgrade in Select Device.
      1. Click and select a managed object on the page that is displayed.
      2. Click OK.

  3. Optional: Click OK.

Follow-up Procedure

After the upgrade, you can perform the following operations on the IoT upgrade management page.

You can perform this operation to view task details.

  1. Click name of the target task.
  2. Browse the information of task on new page.
  3. Click Cancel to return to the IoT upgrade management page.

Set parameters

  1. Click .
  2. Set Configure Upgrade Timeout Interval and Configure Concurrent Upgrade Tasks on the new page according to actual needs.
  3. Click OK.

Query task

You can perform this operation to check IoT upgrade information.

  1. Specify the search criteria, including Task Type, Task Status, eSE IP Address, and eSE Name.
  2. Click Search. Upgrade information about the queried task is displayed on the current page.

Stop task

You can perform this operation to stop upgrade tasks.

  • Stop a single task.
    1. Click in the Operation column of the target task.
    2. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.
  • Stop multiple tasks in a batch.
    1. Select the tasks you want to stop.
    2. Click .
    3. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.
    NOTE:
    • If the task is stopped, the upgrade progress of some terminals may become unknown. You can use the DSP DEVICE command of the MML command function for query.
    • When secondary delivery is performed on terminals in Unknown state and the error information "Is Already The Current Version" is displayed, the first delivery has been successfully performed on the terminals, which is normal.

Archive task

You can perform this operation to move upgrade information to Upgrade History.

  • Archive a single task.
    1. Click in the Operation column of the target task.
    2. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.
  • Archive multiple tasks in a batch.
    1. Select upgrade tasks you want to archive.
    2. Click .
    3. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.
