Understanding the Data Center

Understanding the Data Center

Data center management of eSight supports management of physical and virtual resources to help O&M personnel quickly locate faults.

For details about data center management, see Region Monitor.

Basic Concepts

Before applying eSight data center management, you need to understand several concepts, such as region, DC, AZ, and cluster, and understand their association relationships.

Region

You can emulate the live network environment to create a virtual region structure on eSight and add virtual cloud devices to form a complete region topology and implement visualized management. Region types include DC, AZ, cluster, and user-defined region.

DC

Data center is one of the dimensions to divide regions on the eSight.

AZ

Availability zone, a logic concept, is one of the dimensions to divide regions. Multiple clusters can be included into the same AZ, logically implementing region isolation.

Cluster

A cluster is a group of mutually independent computers. They are interconnected through a high-speed network and managed in a single system. A cluster consists of multiple servers.
