Automatically Deploying Terminals

Automatically Deploying Terminals

When configuration files and version files and terminal numbers are prepared, you can use the automatic deployment function of the eSight to upgrade the configuration files and version files and allocate numbers when terminals are connected for the first time. This significantly improves deployment efficiency. By default, eSight manages IP phones in non-NAT mode. When eSight manages IP phones in NAT mode, it can only upgrade eSpace 79 and eSpace 89 series IP phones.

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu.
  2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Terminal Device Management > Deployment Management > Automatic Deployment.
  3. Click in the Associate Configuration File column of the group where the terminals to deploy are located, and select the configuration files for the terminal models to deploy.

Default groups are displayed in the group list. You can click a group to go to the corresponding subgroup. In the subgroup list, you can click to return to the upper-level group.

For eSpace 7900 series and eSpace 8900 series IP phones, select the configuration files whose Configuring Policy is set to Full if the automatic number allocation function needs to be enabled. Otherwise, automatic number allocation is unavailable during automatic deployment.

  4. Optional: Click in the Associate Version File column and select the version files of the terminal models to deploy.
  5. Click in the Allocated Number Segment column and specify the number segment.

The eSight does not automatically allocate numbers if no number segment is specified.

  6. Optional: Click in the Subnet Bandwidth column and set the maximum bandwidth that the terminals in the subnet can use during automatic deployment.

If the ACS address (address corresponding to the TR069 service on eSight) configured on the terminal changes after automatic deployment policy configuration, and the changed address is the current address of the TR069 service on eSight or the terminal is restarted, the terminal checks whether the current version matches the target version in the rule of the automatic deployment policy. If not, the terminal triggers the automatic deployment task to automatically upgrade to the target version. If the rule contains a configuration file, the configuration file is automatically delivered to the terminal after the upgrade.

After the automatic deployment task is triggered, you can choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu, choose Terminal Device Management > Deployment Management > Automatic Deployment, and click the Task View tab to view the automatic deployment task.
