Certificate Management

Certificate Management

This section describes how to update and restore the certificate file used for communication between eSight and eIMS devices. For security purposes, you are advised to deploy a certificate applied from an official authority.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight client.
  • You have been assigned the permission to manage the eIMS certificate file.
  • You have prepared the PEM root certificate, server certificate, server private key, and password of the server private key.

Context

  • For security purposes, you are advised to replace the default certificate.
  • Certificate update and certificate restoration will cause a short-lived device disconnection. Exercise caution when performing the operation.
NOTE:

When a certificate is configured on the device or eSight to authenticate the peer end, the identity certificates on the device and eSight must trust each other. To ensure the trust relationship, you need to update the identity certificate on the device or eSight. To update the identify certificate on eSight, perform operations in this section.

Procedure

  • Certificate update
    1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu.
    2. Choose Network Element Device Management > eIMS Management > Certificate Management from the navigation tree on the left.
    3. Click next to Root certificate, Server certificate, and Server private key respectively. In the window that is displayed, select the prepared certificate file and click Open.
    4. Enter the password of the server private key.
    5. Click Update Certificate.
    6. Click OK in the dialog box that is displayed.
  • Certificate restoration
    1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu.
    2. Choose Network Element Device Management > eIMS Management > Certificate Management from the navigation tree on the left.
