Prerequisites

The prerequisites for industry terminals to connect to the eSight.

Before connecting the eOMC to the eSight, set the upper-layer NMS information on the eOMC. For details, see the eOMC910 Product Documentation.

If eSight is deployed in a local two-node cluster and has the multi-subnet management feature enabled, you need to configure the operating system IP addresses of the active and standby eSight servers and floating IP address of the local two-node cluster on the upper-layer NMS of the eOMC.

Configuring a Southbound IP Address

The interface between the eSight and industry terminals is a southbound one. A southbound interface IP address must be configured for the eSight to manage industry terminals.

  • Windows Operating System
    1. Log in to the eSight server as user Administrator.
    2. Choose Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
    3. Right-click the enabled local connection and choose Properties from the shortcut menu. The Local Area Connection Properties dialog box is displayed.
    4. Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). In the displayed dialog box Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IVp4) Properties, click Advanced.
    5. In the displayed Properties dialog box, choose IP Settings > Add. In the displayed dialog box, enter the southbound IP address and subnet mask of the eSight.
  • Linux Operating System
    1. Log in to the eSight server as user root.
    2. Add a southbound IP address by running the following commands in the command line interface:
      1. Perform the following operations to add a southbound IP address in the command-line interface (CLI):

        ~# ifconfig

      2. Run the following command to bind an IP address (for example, a southbound IP address 10.11.11.28/24 that is on the same network segment as that of the SGi interface for the eSE) to an available service network adapter (for example, port eth0):

        ~# ip addr add 10.11.11.28/24 brd 10.11.11.255 scope global dev eth0

    3. Run the following command to check whether the southbound IP address is successfully added:

      ~# ip addr

Adding a Route from the eSight to an Industry Terminal

  • Windows Operating System
    1. Log in to the eSight server as user Administrator.
    2. Choose Start > Run. Enter cmd. The DOS window is displayed.
    3. Add a route from the eSight to an industry terminal.For example, run the following command if the static IP address of the industry terminal is on the 10.6.6.0/24 network segment and the IP address of the SGi interface connected to the southbound IP address of the eSight is 10.11.11.160 on the eSE:

      route add 10.6.6.0 mask 255.255.255.0 10.11.11.160 -p

    4. Run the following command to check whether the route is successfully added:

      route print

  • Linux Operating System
    1. Use PuTTY to log in to the eSight server as user root.
    2. Add a route from the eSight to an industry terminal.For example, run the following command if the static IP address of the industry terminal is on the 10.6.6.0/24 network segment and the IP address of the SGi interface connected to the southbound IP address of the eSight is 10.11.11.160 on the eCNS:

      route add -net 10.6.6.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 10.11.11.160

    3. Run the following command to check whether the route is successfully added:

      –nroute

Configure the DNS Server

To connect industry terminals to eSight, set acs url among TR069 parameters.When a large number of industry terminals need to be connected to eSight, map the domain name of acs url to the eSight IP address through the DNS server, improving configuration efficiency.

  1. Configure the DNS on the eSight server.
    • For details about operations in the SUSE Linux operating system, see "(Optional) Configuring the DNS Server" in Single-Node System Software Installation Guide (SUSE Linux).
    • For details about operations in the Euler operating system, see "(Optional) Configuring the DNS Server" in Single-Node System Software Installation Guide (EulerOS+GaussDB).
    • For details about operations in the Windows operating system, see "(Optional) Configuring the DNS Server" in Single-Node System Software Installation Guide (Windows).
  2. Configure the DNS on the eSE.
    • Open the eSE client and run the following command: ADD GWAPNDNS: APN="acs.com", IPV4PRIMARY="10.11.11.10"
    • If all APNs of the eSE use the same DNS address, configure the default DNS IP address: ADD DEFAULTDNS: IPV4PRIMARY="10.11.11.13"
      NOTE:

      Change APN and IPV4PRIMARY based on your actual needs.

      industry terminals must be re-attached to the eSE before querying the domain name and IP address mapping to the new DNS address.You can re-attach an industry terminal in either of the following ways:

      • Re-attach the industry terminal on the eSE: RMV USR: RMVOPTION=BYIMSI, IMSI="460251234567890", DTMODE=EXPLICIT, DTTYPE=Re-attach_Required. In the command, change the IMSI value based on your actual needs.
      • Restart the industry terminal.
  1. Configure the DNS on the eSight server.

    For details about operations in the Euler operating system, see "(Optional) Configuring the DNS Server" in Single-Node System Software Installation Guide (EulerOS+GaussDB).

  2. Configure the DNS on the eSE.
    • Open the eSE client and run the following command: ADD GWAPNDNS: APN="acs.com", IPV4PRIMARY="10.11.11.10"
    • If all APNs of the eSE use the same DNS address, configure the default DNS IP address: ADD DEFAULTDNS: IPV4PRIMARY="10.11.11.13"
