Managing IoT Devices

Managing IoT Devices

eSight can manage NEs of the IoT device added to it in a centralized manner.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > IoT from the main menu.

    Description

    1. Toolbar

    Displays toolbar information.

    2. Device display information

    Displays basic information and operations of the IoT device.

    Name

    Device name.

    Connection Status

    Connection status of the device, which can be Offline or Online.

    IP Address

    Device IP address.

    Backup IP Address

    Device backup IP address.

    Subnet

    Subnet of a device.

    Device Type

    Device model.

    Software Version

    Device software version.

    Operation

    You can perform the following operations: Locate in Topology, Modify, Delete, and Modify SNMP Information.

  2. You can perform the following operations on the Device Management page.

    Add IoT devices

    Add a single IoT device

    1. Click Add. The Add Device page is displayed.
    2. Set the IP address, Name, Subnet, Device type.
    3. Set SNMP parameters.

      The SNMP version is V3, you need to set Security name, Authentication protocol, Authentication password, Privacy protocol, Privacy password and Timeout interval.

      NOTE:

      Contact the NE administrator for SNMP parameters.

    4. Click OK.

    Delete devices

    You can delete information about the IoT devices when eSight no longer manages these devices.

    NOTE:

    After the IoT is deleted, its managed sub-NEs are automatically deleted.

    • Delete information about a single IoT device.
      1. Click in the Operation column of the target device.
      2. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.
    • Delete information about multiple IoT devices in a batch.
      1. Select devices you want to delete.
      2. Click Delete above the list.
      3. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.

    Move

    You can perform this operation to modify the subnet of the device.

    1. Select a device to be adjusted and click Move.
    2. Select the target device on the Move page and click OK.
    3. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.

    Locate in Topology

    Click next to the device list. The Topology Management page is displayed. For details on topology management operations, see Physical Topology Management.

    Modify Information

    You can perform this operation to modify device information.

    1. Click in the Operation column of the target device.
    2. The page for modifying device information is displayed. Modify device information on the page that is displayed.
    3. Click OK.

    Modify SNMP Information

    1. Click in the Operation column of the target device.
    2. Modify SNMP information on the page that is displayed.
    3. Click OK.
