eSight can manage eSE added to it in a centralized manner.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > eLTE > Resource Monitor > eSE from the main menu.

    • Check the device type you selected is matched with the NE.

    IP Address

    Device IP address.

    Subnet

    Subnet where the device locates.

    Device Type

    Device model.

    Software Version

    Device software version.

    Vendor

    Device vendor.

    Last Modified At

    Last time when the device is modified.

    Device Creation Time

    Time when the Device is created.

    Device Creation Mode

    Mode in which the Device is created.

    Duration Inaccessible (s)

    Total length in offline state after the device is automatically added to eSight.

    Location

    Physical location of the device.

    Management Status

    Management status of the device, which can be Normal or Disabled.

    Last Synchronized At

    Last time when information is synchronized on the device.

    Operation

    You can perform the following operations: Locate in Topology, Modify, Delete, and Reset Password.

    Select items to be displayed in the device information list.

  2. You can perform the following operations on the eSE page.

    Task

    Search for a device

    1. Click on the search bar.
    2. Set the search criteria.
    3. Select Connection Status.
    4. Set Subnet, Name, IP Address, and Last Synchronized At.
    5. In More, click Device Type, Location, and Remarks respectively, and enter the search criteria.
    6. Click Search.

    Add eSE devices

    • Add a single eSE device.
      1. Click Add. The Add Device page is displayed.
      2. Set the IP Address, Name, Subnet, Device Type, Connection Mode.
      3. Set Allow Anonymous.

        If the version of eCNS610 is before V100R004C00, make sure this check box is selected.

        If the version of CGPOMU is before V200R016C10, make sure this check box is selected.

      4. If the Device Type is set to CGPOMU, you need to set parameters in the SNMP area.

        If SNMP Version is set to V3, you need to set Security Name, Authentication Protocol, Authentication Key, Private Protocol, Private Key, and Timeout Interval (s).

      5. Click OK.
        NOTE:

        After the CGPOMU is added, eSight automatically adds the eCNS600 or ESS managed by the CGPOMU.

    • Add eSE devices in a batch.
      1. Click Import. The Import Devices page is displayed.
      2. Click Template.xls to download a template to a local device.
      3. Open the template, enter device information, and save the template.
      4. Click next to Upload File to select the locally saved template. Click .
      5. Click Create.
      NOTE:
      • Only eCNS610 devices can be added in batches.
      • eSight automatically creates a subnet recorded in the template.
      • If the template contains incorrect content or devices that have been added to eSight, the template cannot be successfully loaded.

    Delete devices

    You can delete information about the devices when eSight no longer manages these devices.

    • Delete information about a single eSE device.
      1. Click next to the target device.
      2. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.
    • Delete information about multiple eSE devices in a batch.
      1. Select devices you want to delete.
      2. Click Delete above the list.
      3. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.

    Synchronize Configuration

    NOTE:

    The eCNS610 does not support configuration synchronization.

    • Start synchronization
      1. Select the eSE to be synchronized in the eSE information list.
      2. Click Synchronize Configuration and choose Start Synchronization.
    • Status monitoring
      1. Select the eSE to be synchronized in the eSE information list.
      2. Click Synchronize Configuration and choose Manage Config Sync.

    Move a device

    You can perform this operation to modify the subnet of the device.

    1. Select a eSE device to be adjusted and click Move.
    2. Select the target subnet on the Move page and click OK.
    3. Click OK in the Confirm dialog box.

    Locate in Topology

    Click next to the eSE in the device list. The Topology Management page is displayed. For details on topology management operations, see Physical Topology Management.

    Modify eSE Information

    You can perform this operation to modify eSE information.

    1. Click next to the target eSE device.
    2. The page for modifying eSE device information is displayed. Modify eSE device information on the page that is displayed.
    3. Click OK.

    Reset Password

    You can perform this operation to modify the password of the emscomm account and the soapuser account.

    NOTE:

    Only CGPOMU devices support soapuser account.

    1. Click next to the target eSE device.
    2. On the page that is displayed, modify the password of the emscomm account or the soapuser account.
    3. Click OK.

    Modify SNMP Information

    Only CGPOMU has SNMP information.

    1. Click in the Operation column of the target CGPOMU.
    2. Modify SNMP information on the page that is displayed.

      The SNMP version is V3, you need to set Security name, Authentication protocol, Authentication password, Privacy protocol, Privacy password and Timeout interval.

    3. Click OK.
    NOTE:

    You can click on the upper right corner of the eSE device list to filter display information.

Managing eCNS600 Devices

Click Synchronize Configuration. eSight will start to synchronize the configuration data.

Web NMS

eSight provides a quick entry to the LMT web page for managing vUGW.

Perform operations on the interface based on your requirements.

NOTE:

If you cannot access the vUGW LMT web management page, contact the administrator.

Ping

The ping function allows you to know the connection status between a device and the server.

Prerequisite: The device has enabled the ICMP protocol.

  1. Click Ping.
  2. On the pop-up page, set the packet size and times.
    NOTE:

    Set a proper packet size according to the firewall configuration policy.

  3. Click Ping.

    The result is displayed in the text box on the current page.

View the topology

Click View Topology. On the pop-up page, view the device location in the network topology.
