OLTs not listed in the preceding table use FTP or secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) ports that conflict with eSight and will result in ONT upgrade failure or WLAN configuration import failure. You are advised to upgrade OLTs to the supported version and then upgrade ONTs or import WLAN configuration.

Application Scenario

FTP and SFTP are supported for remote ONT upgrade and WLAN configuration import.

NOTE:

SFTP is recommended because its security level is higher than that of FTP.

Procedure

  • Windows
    • To support FTP, perform the following operations:
      1. Log in to the eSight server as the Administrator user.
      2. Open the eSight installation directory/AppBase/sysagent/etc/sysconf/svcbase/med_node_1_svc.xml file.
        <config name="ftp">
        <param name="enable">false</param>
        <param name="listenerPort">31921</param>
        <param name="passivePorts">32150-32159</param>
        <param name="permitFileSize">10737418240</param>
        <param name="permitFileType"></param>
        <param name="maxLinkLimit">1024</param>
        <param name="idleTime">300</param>
        </config>
      3. Set enable to true and listenerPort to 21.
      4. Restart the eSight server.
    • To support SFTP, perform the following operations:
      1. Log in to the eSight server as the Administrator user.
      2. Right-click the tool bar on the desk, choose Start Task Manager, and stop the sshd.exe process.
      3. Open the eSight installation directory/AppBase/sysagent/etc/sysconf/svcbase/med_node_1_svc.xml file.
        <config name="sftp">
        <param name="enable">true</param>
        <param name="listenerPort">31922</param>
      4. Set listenerPort to 22.
      5. Restart the eSight server.
  • Linux

    By default, OLTs and MxUs are remotely upgraded through SFTP. However, ONTs cannot be remotely upgraded through SFTP.

    • To support FTP, perform the following operations:
      1. Log in to the SUSE Linux OS as the ossuser user.

      2. Switch to the root user.

        >su - root

      3. Open the eSight installation directory/AppBase/sysagent/etc/sysconf/svcbase/med_node_1_svc.xml file.

        # cd eSight installation directory/AppBase/sysagent/etc/sysconf/svcbase

        # vi med_node_1_svc.xml

        <config name="ftp">
        <param name="enable">false</param>
        <param name="listenerPort">31921</param>
        <param name="passivePorts">32150-32159</param>
        <param name="permitFileSize">10737418240</param>
        <param name="permitFileType"></param>
        <param name="maxLinkLimit">1024</param>
        <param name="idleTime">300</param>
        </config>
      4. Set enable to true.
      5. Restart the eSight server.
