When I Configure the Subnet Background as the ArcGIS Map, the ArcGIS Map Cannot be Opened. How Can I Do

Symptom

When I configure the Subnet Background as the ArcGIS Map, the ArcGIS map cannot be opened. How can I do?

Possible Causes

The security certificate for ArcGIS map server is not installed or is incorrect. You need to install a valid security certificate.

Procedure

  • Install a security certificate in the Internet Explorer browser.
    1. Copy the eSight installation directory/AppBase/etc/certificate/application/ca/ca.crt to a local directory.
    2. Open the IE explore, login the eSight, click Tools > Internet Options.
    3. In the Internet Options dialog box, select the Certificate on the Content tab page.
    4. In the Select Certificate Store dialog box, select Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click Import.
    5. Click Next.
    6. Click Browse, select the ca.crt.
    7. Click Next.
    8. Select Place all certificates in the following store and click Browse.
    9. In the Select Certificate Store dialog box, select Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click OK.
    10. Click Next.
    11. In the Certificate Import Wizard dialog box, click Finish.
    12. In the Security Warning dialog box, click Yes.
    13. In the Certificate Import Wizard dialog box, click OK.
    14. Close and re-open the Internet Explorer browser and log in to the ArcGis map server.
  • Install a security certificate in the Mozilla Firefox browser.
    1. Contact an Arcgis map server administrator to obtain the security certificate.
    2. Open the Firefox browser, choose Open menu > Options.
    3. Click Advanced and click the Certificates tab.
    4. Click View Certificates.
    5. In the Certificate Manager window box, click the Authorities tab.
    6. Click Import, select a certificate, and then click Open.
    7. In the Downloading Certificate window box, select Trust this CA to identify websites, and click OK.
    8. The Certificate Manager window is displayed. Click OK.
    9. Close and re-open the Firefox browser and log in to the ArcGis map server.

Suggestion and Summary

The GIS background function of the eSight topology is normal. Browsers must access the Arcgis map server without displaying the security certificate error notification. If the imported security certificate is invalid and the security certificate error notification page is still displayed, contact an Arcgis map server administrator.
