Removing the Proxy Settings

This section describes how to remove the proxy settings. This section uses the Windows 7 operating system as an example.

Prerequisites

  • The Windows operating system is running properly.
  • You have logged in to the Windows operating system as a user of the Administrators user group.

Procedure

  • Remove the proxy setting of Internet Explorer.
    1. Choose Tools > Internet Options on the menu bar of Windows Internet Explorer. If the menu bar is unavailable, press Alt to display it.
    2. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Connections tab.
    3. Click LAN settings.
    4. In the LAN settings dialog box, clear the check on Use a proxy server for your LAN option.
    5. Click OK.
    6. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the OK.
  • Remove the proxy setting of Firefox.
    1. Click and choose Options on the menu bar of Windows Firefox.
    2. In the Options window, click Advanced.
    3. Click the Network tab.
    4. In Connection, click Settings.
    5. In the Connection Settings window, select the No proxy.
    6. Click OK.
  • Remove the proxy setting of Google Chrome.
    1. Click and choose Settings on the menu bar of Windows Google Chrome.
    2. In the displayed page, click Show advanced settings.
    3. In the Network area, click Change proxy settings.
    4. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Connections tab.
    5. Click LAN settings.
    6. In the LAN settings dialog box, clear the check on Use a proxy server for your LAN option.
    7. Click OK.
    8. In the Internet Options dialog box, click OK.
