Industry Terminal Upgrade Management

Industry Terminal Upgrade Management

You can upgrade an industry terminal to a later version or roll back an industry terminal to an earlier version.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight client.
  • The firmware version files for industry terminals have been created in eSight.
  • You have been assigned the operation rights.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > eLTE > Device Software Management > Industry Terminal Upgrade Management from the main menu.
  2. Click to create a task.

    1. Set Task Name in Set Task.
    2. (Optional) Set Scheduled Task.
      • If you set Scheduled Task to ON, set Scheduled Time manually.
      • If you set Scheduled Task to OFF, eSight performs the upgrade task immediately.
    3. Set Same Version Upgrade.
      • If you set to OFF, eSight will not perform the upgrade task when the target version is the same as the current version of the Industry Terminal.
      • If you set to ON, eSight performs the upgrade task when the target version is the same as the current version of the Industry Terminal.

  3. Select devices.

    1. Click and select a managed object on the page that is displayed.
    2. Click OK.

      Device models and version are automatically displayed in the Select File area.

  4. Set Target Version in the list under the Select File.
  5. Click OK.

Follow-up Procedure

When the upgrade task is created, you can perform the following operations on the Industry Terminal Upgrade Management page.

Task

Operation

Query task

You can perform this operation to check whether an industry terminal is upgraded.

  1. Specify the search criteria, including Task Name, Creation Mode, and Task Status.
  2. Click Search. Upgrade information about the queried task is displayed on the current page.

Stop task

You can perform this operation to stop upgrade tasks.

  • Stop a single task.
    1. Click next to the target task.
    2. Click Yes in the Information dialog box.
  • Stop multiple tasks in a batch.
    1. Select the tasks you want to stop.
    2. Click Stop above the list.
    3. Click Yes in the Information dialog box.

Retry task

If version upgrade tasks fail, you can perform this operation to restart the version upgrade tasks.

  • Retry a single task.
    1. Click in the Operation column of the target task.
    2. Click Yes in the Information dialog box.
  • Retry multiple tasks in a batch.
    1. Select the tasks you want to retry.
    2. Click Retry.
    3. Click Yes in the Information dialog box.

Save task

You can perform this operation to remove and save upgrade task information before clearing it.

  • Save a single upgrade task.
    1. Click in the Operation column of the target task.
    2. Click Yes in the Information dialog box.
  • Save upgrade tasks in a batch.
    1. Select upgrade tasks you want to save.
    2. Click Archive above the task list.
    3. Click Yes in the Information dialog box.

Export task

You can perform this operation to export upgrade tasks.

  1. Click next to the target task.
  2. Select a path for saving the upgrade task and click Save.

Set parameters

  1. Click Set at the upper part of the table.
  2. On the page that is displayed, set Automatic Re-execute Times, Timeout (min), and Total Cell Concurrency and click Confirm.
NOTE:

This operation affects the parameter settings on the task management page.
