Managing Configuration Files

Configuration file management allows you to modify common parameters in the configuration file template to batch modify terminal configuration parameters. The configuration files can be used when terminals are deployed either automatically or manually.

Prerequisites

The configuration file template for the terminals whose configurations you want to modify is available. To download the configuration file template for the terminals, visit http://support.huawei.com, and click the Carrier Support tab. On the displayed page, choose Support > Software > Cloud Core Network > Cloud Communications > Enterprise Cloud Communications, click the corresponding phone model, and click the desired file package in the Version or Patch No. list.

  • The configuration file template for eSpace 7800 series IP phones is in .cfg format.
  • The configuration file template for 8850 IP phones is in .xml format.
  • For eSpace 6800 series IP phones, eSpace 7900 series IP phones and eSpace 8950 IP Phone, compress the configuration file (Config-eSpace68XX.xml, Config-eSpace79XX.xml, or Config-eSpace8950.xml) and the eSightUI.xml file provided by the eSight together to a .zip package. This .zip package is the configuration file template for eSpace 6800 series IP phones, eSpace 7900 series IP phones and eSpace 8950 IP Phone.
  • The configuration file template for TE10, TE20 and TEX0 video conferencing terminals, is in .xml format.
  • The configuration file template for DP300 is in .xml format.
  • The configuration file template for CloudLink Android, CloudLink Ios, CloudLink Mac, CloudLink Win, CloudLink IWB, Workplace-series soft terminal, HUAWEI Bar 500, HUAWEI Board, HUAWEI Box 500, HUAWEI Box 700, and HUAWEI Box 900 is in .xml format.
  • The configuration file template for SoftConsole, is in .xml format.
  • The configuration file template for C13 and C31, is in .xml format.
  • The configuration file template for HUAWEI IP Phone 7900 series, is in .xml format.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu.
  2. Optional: If you need to add a configuration file template for the terminals to upgrade, perform the following steps:

    1. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Terminal Device Management > Deployment Management > Configuration File and click Configuration File Template Manager.
    2. Click Upload.
    3. On the Upload Configuration File Template page that is displayed, set the configuration file template parameters.

      The following configuration file formats are supported:

      • eSpace 6800 series IP phones: zip
      • eSpace 7800 series IP phones: cfg
      • eSpace 7900 series IP phones: zip
      • eSpace 8850 video phone: xml
      • eSpace 8900 series IP phones: zip
      • TE10: xml
      • TE20: xml
      • TEX0: xml
      • DP300: xml
      • CloudLink Android: xml
      • CloudLink Ios: xml
      • CloudLink Mac: xml
      • CloudLink Win: xml
      • CloudLink IWB: xml
      • Workplace-series soft terminal: xml
      • HUAWEI Bar 500: xml
      • HUAWEI Board: xml
      • HUAWEI Box 500: xml
      • HUAWEI Box 700: xml
      • HUAWEI Box 900: xml
      • SoftConsole: xml
      • C13: xml
      • C31: xml
      • HUAWEI IP Phone 7900 series: xml
    4. Click OK.

      The newly added configuration file template is displayed on the GUI.

  3. Manage terminal configuration files.

    1. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Terminal Device Management > Deployment Management > Configuration File.
    2. Click Create and set related parameters in the Basic Information area.
      • Enter the configuration file name in Configuration file name.
      • Select the models of terminals to be configured from Device model. Set parameters of selected terminal models in the corresponding panes.

        For the description about terminal parameters, see the corresponding Configuration File Parameter Description.

        For eSpace 7900 series and eSpace 8900 series IP phones:

      • When Configuring Policy is set to Full, all parameters are valid in the configuration file that is generated, and all the parameter values are delivered to the IP phones of the matching models.

      For eSpace 7900 series and eSpace 8900 series IP phones, set Configuring Policy to Full if the automatic number allocation function needs to be enabled. Otherwise, automatic number allocation is unavailable during automatic deployment.

      • When Configuring Policy is set to Specified item, only selected parameters are valid in the configuration file that is generated, and the selected parameter values are delivered to the IP phones of the matching models. The parameters that are not selected remain unchanged.
    3. After confirming the configurations, click OK.

      If you can find the new configuration file on the Configuration File page, the operation is successful.

  4. Optional: If you need to add custom parameters to the configuration file, perform the following steps:

    1. In the row containing the target configuration file, click in the Operation column.
    2. Click User Defined Configuration.
    3. Click Add.
    4. On the Add Parameter page that is displayed, set the parameters.
    5. Click OK.

      The newly added parameter is displayed on the interface.

    6. Click OK.

  5. (Optional) Download an existing configuration file on the eSight server and reload the file as a configuration file template.

    NOTE:
    • The eSpace 68-series, eSpace 78-series, and eSpace 8850 terminals do not support the configuration file download function.
    • The eSpace 7910, eSpace7950, and eSpace8950 terminals do not support the configuration file download function if no configuration template is configured for the configuration file.
    1. Click in the Operation column of the configuration file to be downloaded.
    2. Save the configuration file to the specified directory.
    3. On the Configuration File page, click File Template Manager.
    4. Click Upload.
    5. On the Upload Configuration File Template page that is displayed, set the configuration file template parameters.

      The following configuration file formats are supported:

      • eSpace 6800 series IP phones: zip
      • eSpace 7800 series IP phones: cfg
      • eSpace 7900 series IP phones: zip
      • eSpace 8850 video phone: xml
      • eSpace 8900 series IP phones: zip

    6. Click OK.

      The newly added configuration file template is displayed on the GUI.
