Storage Application Performance Report

Storage Application Performance Report

A storage application performance report shows the capacity data of applications in the storage subnet and can be exported.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation tree, choose Report > Report.
  2. Choose Storage Report > Performance Report > Storage Application Performance Report.

    NOTE:
    • To view capacity details, hover your mouse over the chart. The report can be exported on the format of word 2007, excel 2007, and pdf. The statistic charts are exported as figures, and lists are exported as tables.
    • If the statistic period is set to one day, the chart displays the I/O response time (unit: minute). The average value, maximum value, and minimum value are not calculated. If the statistic period is set to one week, the average value and maximum value are calculated by hour. If the statistic period is longer than one week, the average value and maximum value are calculated by day.

  3. View the application performance chart.

    • Top 5 Application Average I/O latency: displays the average I/O response time of the applications ranking top 5.
    • Top 5 Application Average IOPS: displays IOPS of the applications ranking top 5.
    • Top 5 Application Bandwidth: displays the bandwidth information about the applications ranking top 5.
    • Top 5 Application CPU Usage: displays the CPU usage of applications ranking top 5.
    NOTE:
    • Statistical period 1 day is used as an example to illustrate the data in the same period of history. If the time is set to 10:00 on April 5 with Same period of history selected, curves displaying the comparison of two periods are displayed, which are Current (10:00 on April 4 to 10:00 on April 5) and History (10:00 on April 3 to 10:00 on April 4). The solid line indicates capacity data in the current period, while the dashed line indicates capacity data in the historical period.
    • In the curve chart, you can select a time range using the mouse to view the data in the selected time range on the current curve chart.
      • The time dimension of the data displayed on the page is automatically adjusted based on the current time dimension and page time range.
      • After you select the Same period of history check box at the upper right corner of the curve chart, the displayed data contains that in the parallel comparison period corresponding to the selected time range. Data in the parallel comparison period is displayed in dotted lines.
      • After you select a legend, only the data of the current legend is displayed after the selection operation. You can use the mouse to display the data of other legends.
      • You can double-click the curve chart to display the original status of the curve chart when the page is opened.

  4. View performance data applications in the following table.

    NOTE:
    • If the Whether the Latest column is displayed as Yes, the latest information about the resource is displayed. If the Whether the Latest column is displayed as No, the information before the resource change is displayed.
    • After the resource is renamed or the associated resource is changed, the resource information before and after the change will be displayed in two columns in the table. The Whether the Latest column before and after the change is displayed as No and yes, respectively.
    • After the resource is deleted, information about the resource is displayed in the table and the Whether the Latest column is displayed as No.

  5. Click an application name. The page for performance information about the application is displayed.
  6. The following performance chart shows performance information about the host application.

    • Top 5 Host Average I/O Response Time: displays the average I/O response time of the hosts ranking top 5.
    • Top 5 Host Average IOPS : displays the average IOPS of the hosts ranking top 5.
    • Top 5 Host Bandwidth : displays the bandwidth data of the hosts ranking top 5.
    • Top 5 Host CPU Usage : displays the CPU usage of hosts ranking top 5.
    1. The host performance statistic list displays performance data of all hosts associated with the application.
    2. Click a host name. The page for performance information about the host is displayed.
      • Host CPU Usage : displays CPU usage data of the host.
      • Host RAM Usage : displays RAM usage data of the host.
      • Top 5 Disk Average I/O Latency : displays I/O latency data of disks ranking top 5.
      • Top 5 Disk Throughput(IOPS) : displays IOPS data of disks ranking top 5.
    1. The disk list displays performance data of disks associated with the host.
      NOTE:

Type indicates the disk type. The disks of the hosts and disks mapped to storage devices which have not interconnected with eSight are displayed as local disks. Disks mapped to the storage devices that are connected to eSight are mounted disks.

    2. Click a disk name. The page for performance information about the disk is displayed.
      • Disk Average I/O Latency : displays the average I/O response time of the disk.
      • Disk Maximum I/O Latency : displays the maximum I/O response time of the disk.
      • Disk Average Throughput(IOPS) : displays the average IOPS of the disk.
      • Disk Maximum Throughput(IOPS) : displays the maximum IOPS of the disk.

  7. View performance information about LUNs and file systems of the storage application on the page that is displayed.

    • Application I/O Latency: displays the average I/O response time of the application.
    • Application Read/Write Bandwidth: displays the read/write bandwidth of the application.
    • Application LUN Read/Write Throughput(IOPS): displays the read/write IOPS of LUNs of the application.
