Managing IAD

You can manage integrated access devices (IADs) on the eSight, including configuring the IAD automatic upgrade and backing up the IAD configuration data.

IAD Device Management Overview

This topic describes how to manage integrated access devices (IADs).

Precautions

This topic describes only the configuration items and the processes for setting these items. You can set these items based on the site requirements and by referring to the parameter description in the IAD Product Documentation.

To access the IAD management page, perform the following steps:

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu. In the navigation tree, choose Network Element Device Management > Unified Communications > Resource Management > Unified Communications Device.
  2. Select the IAD device in the managed device list and click the IAD device name.
  3. Select configuration items in the navigation tree on the left.

Configuration Backup and Restore

Used to back up and restore the IAD configuration data.

You can manually back up IAD configuration data before modifying IAD configurations. You can use the backup data to restore the IAD configuration data.

For details, see Backing Up the IAD Configuration Data.

NOTE:

If you enable NAT traversal, the FTPS service becomes unavailable. The Configuration Backup and Restore becomes invalid for IADs.

If you need the Configuration Backup and Restore is valid for IADs, you can use FTP service. Exercise caution when using FTP because it may bring security risks.

Current Alarms

Used to view the current alarm information.

Click the button to view the current alarms.

Historical Alarms

Used to search for and view the historical alarm information.

  1. Set the search criteria of the historical alarms and click Filter. Historical alarms that meet the search criteria are displayed.
  2. Select one or more historical alarms, click Export, and select Selected alarms or All to export the alarms.

Masked Alarms

Used to search for and view the masked alarm information.

NOTE:

You can set the alarm masking rules to mask the alarms.

  1. Set the search criteria of the masked alarms and click Filter. Masked alarms that meet the search criteria are displayed.
  2. Select one or more masked alarms, click Export, and select Selected alarms or All to export the alarms.

Performance Status

Used to view the performance status. The eSight can periodically obtain the device performance information based on the created performance counter tasks and display the obtained performance information.

Backing Up the IAD Configuration Data

The eSight can back up and save the IAD configuration data. It supports scheduled backup and manual backup.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the FTPS or FTP service of the eSight is enabled.

You are suggested to use the FTPS service. The FTP service is risky.

Background

If you enable NAT traversal, the FTPS service becomes unavailable. The Configuration Backup and Restore becomes invalid for IADs.

If you need the Configuration Backup and Restore is valid for IADs, you can use FTP service. Exercise caution when using FTP because it may bring security risks.

Scheduled Backup

To automatically back up all IAD configuration data to the eSight server at a scheduled time, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu. In the navigation tree, choose Network Element Device Management > Unified Communications > Service Configuration > Backup Configuration.
  2. In the IAD Scheduled Backup area, select Enable scheduled backup, and set the backup interval (recommended: 7 days) and the backup time (recommended: 02:00:00).
  3. Click Apply.
Manual Backup

To manually back up the configuration data of an IAD to the eSight server, proceed as follows: You can use the backup data to restore the IP PBX configuration data.

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu. In the navigation tree, choose Network Element Device Management > Unified Communications > Resource Management > Unified Communications Device.
  2. In the management object list, choose the device type, and click the device name.
  3. Choose Configuration Backup and Restore from the navigation tree on the left.
  4. Click Back Up on the right.
  5. In the Data Backup dialog box, describe the backup in the Description area.
  6. Click OK.
Save

Save the configuration data to a local disk. When the IP PBX is faulty, you can provide the configuration file to Huawei engineers for locating the fault.

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu. In the navigation tree, choose Network Element Device Management > Unified Communications > Resource Management > Unified Communications Device.
  2. In the management object list, choose the device type, and click the device name.
  3. Choose Configuration Backup and Restore from the navigation tree on the left.

    The last 10 backup records are displayed on the right.

  4. Select a backup record, and click .
  5. Save the configuration file in the computer as prompted.
