Profiles

Profiles

You can create profiles or group profiles by using templates.

Creating a Profile

You can create a profile by configuring the basic information, universally unique identifier (UUID) information, basic input/output system (BIOS) policy, and adapter information.

Procedure
  1. On the menu bar, choose Resource > Server.

  2. In the navigation tree, choose Stateless Computing > Profiles > Profiles to display the profile list.
  3. Click Create, open the page for creating an profile.
  4. Configure basic information about the new profile.

    The basic information includes Name, Type, Template, and Description. For details about a parameter, click.

  5. Click Next. On the displayed page, set UUID.

    • Inherit current configuration: Use the original UUID configuration.
    • Obtain from pool: Search for the required pool by name or UUID, and select the required UUID from the pool.

  6. Click Next and select the required BIOS policy.
  7. Click Next and select the required adapter.

    • Inherit current configuration: Use the original adapter configuration.
    • Select from the list: Use the selected adapter configuration.
      1. Click Select Adapter.
      2. Select an adapter from the Available adapters list box.
      3. Click to move the selected adapter to the Selected adapters list box.
      4. Click OK.
    NOTE:

    To use a converged network adapter (CNA) or host bus adapter (HBA), you need to enter the slot number of the adapter in the Slot ID text box.

  8. Click Next and view summary information.
  9. Click Finish.

    A success message is displayed.

  10. Click OK.
Follow-up Procedure

After profiles are created, you can perform the following operations:

  • Select a profile and click Delete to delete it.
  • Click a profile name. On the profile configuration page, view and set the profile parameters.
  • Select profiles, click Export and then OK, and select a directory for saving the exported file.
  • Click Import. On the displayed page, click, select the file to be imported, and click Upload. In the displayed dialog box, click OK.

Creating a Group Profile

You can create a group profile by configuring the basic information, universally unique identifier (UUID) information, basic input/output system (BIOS) policy, and adapter information. Group profiles are associated to devices within the same group.

Procedure
  1. On the menu bar, choose Resource > Server.

  2. In the navigation tree, choose Stateless Computing > Profiles > Group Profiles to display the group profile list.
  3. Click Create, open the page for creating an group profile.
  4. Configure basic information about the new group profile.

    The basic information includes Name, Type, Template, and Description. For details about a parameter, click.

  5. Click Next. On the displayed page, set UUID.

    • Inherit current configuration: Use the original UUID configuration.
    • Obtain from pool: Search for the required pool by name or UUID, and select the required UUID from the pool.

  6. Click Next and select the required BIOS policy.

  4. Configure basic information about the new template.

    You can search for the required pool by name or UUID and select the required UUID from the pool.

  6. Click Next and select the required BIOS policy.
  7. Click Next and select the required adapter.

    1. Click Select Adapter.
    2. Select an adapter from the Available adapters list box.
    3. Click to move the selected adapter to the Selected adapters list box.
    4. Click OK.
