NE Backup Management

NE Backup Management

Before NE maintenance or upgrade/downgrade, you must back up NE data to the eSight server to avoid the NE data damage or missing caused by upgrade/downgrade or accidents.

NOTE:

After the switchover is performed or the maintenance tool restores data using the backup data, you need to perform NE backup again on the eSight.

Automatic NE Backup

With the backup task, the eSight can automatically implement the periodical NE configuration data backup.

Prerequisites
  • You have logged in to the eSight client.
  • The FTPS service is configured and started.
  • You have operation rights for eIMS object group and NE backup management.
Context
NOTE:

In the backup task list, only if the current user has the operation rights on all NEs involved in a backup task, this task can be displayed in the list and allows for subsequent operations of the current user. Otherwise, the backup task is not displayed in the backup task list.

Procedure
  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu.
  2. Choose Network Element Device Management > eIMS Management > NE Backup Management > Backup Tasks from the navigation tree on the left.
  3. Click New to set backup task parameters.
  4. Click OK.

Enable a backup task.

Select the backup task to be enabled and click Enable.

Disable a backup task.

Select the backup task to be disabled and click Disable.

Modify a backup task.

  1. Click in the Operation column corresponding to the backup task.
  2. Modify task parameters.
  3. Click OK.

Delete a backup task.

Select the backup task to be deleted and click Delete.

Back up data immediately.

Click in the Operation column corresponding to the backup task to immediately perform the backup.

Download a backup package.

  1. Click in the Operation column corresponding to the backup task.
  2. In the displayed Download backup package dialog box, click in the Operation column corresponding to the backup package to be downloaded.
  3. Select the local save path or open the backup package.
NOTE:

If a download failure occurs, remove the browser proxy and download it again. If the download still fails, contact Huawei technical support. For details on removing the browser proxy, see Removing the Proxy Settings.

Manual NE Backup

To back up the NE configuration file in real time, you can use the method of manually backing up NE configuration data to perform the real-time backup.

Prerequisites
  • You have logged in to the eSight client.
  • The FTPS service is configured and started.
  • You have operation rights for eIMS object group and NE backup management.
Procedure
  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu.
  2. Choose Network Element Device Management > eIMS Management > NE Backup Management > NE Backup from the navigation tree on the left.
  3. Select one or more online devices that are not in the backup process and click Backup NE to back up information about the selected devices.

    When Backup Process is displayed as 100% and Backup Info is displayed as Success, the NE data backup is successful.

Download a backup package.

  1. Click in the Operation column corresponding to the NE whose backup package is to be downloaded.
  2. In the displayed Download backup package dialog box, click.
  3. Select the local save path or open the backup package.
NOTE:
