Checking the Storage Network Analysis View

This view displays the application and host hotspot charts. You can view the average IOPS and latency of applications and hosts in the last 24 hours, which enables you to identify systems with low service response efficiency.

Procedure

  1. Go to the storage network and analyze the hotspot map.

    1. Choose Resource > Storage Subnet from the menu bar.

    2. Choose SAN Analyzer.

  2. View the displayed application and host information, including the delay and IOPS.

    NOTE:
    • The hotspot map displays only hosts that are connected through an agent.
    • The larger the application or host application frame area, the greater the IOPS. The deeper the application or host color, the large the delay.

  3. On the application page, click All to view the IOPS and delay of all applications in a table.

    The TOP10 page displays top 10 applications with the largest delay. You can click an application link to go to the application data page and further views the IOPS and delay of the application.

  4. On the host page, click All to view the IOPS, delay, and CPU usage of all hosts in a table.

    The TOP10 page displays hosts configured with a delay threshold. If fewer than 10 hosts are configured with a delay threshold, the page displays these hosts and some hosts without delay threshold and with the largest delay. A total of 10 hosts are displayed.

    NOTE:

    For details about how to configure the host delay threshold, see Configuring the Host Delay Threshold.

    You can click a host or disk on the page to go to the host path diagram page. On this page, you can view basic attributes of links and ports on the storage network, and link port and device threshold alarms. This facilitates troubleshooting of faults on the network.

    1. After clicking NE Description, you can view details about the device. After clicking View Alarm, you can view the specific alarm information.
      NOTE:

      The host path topology page displays information about the remote disk (that is, the disk mapped to the LUN of the storage device) of the host.

      You can adjust the topology view by clicking buttons on it.

      • Click to zoom in on the topology view.
      • Click to zoom out of the topology view.
      • Click to restore the initial size of the topology view.
    2. The performance analysis page on the host path diagram displays the delay performance curve of the current disk. In addition, the page displays the fault demarcation analysis conclusion based on historical delay data.
      NOTE:

      The fault demarcation and analysis function depends on the delay threshold configured on the host.

      • You can select different time segments or customize time segments to view the delay performance of all disks.
      • You can click to zoom in on the page. The delay performance data of each node in the disk SAN path is displayed. Click to back.
        • When you move the pointer to a delay performance chart, the performance data of hosts, switches, and storage devices at the same time point is displayed.
        • Click a point in the delay performance diagram. The performance data of hosts, switches, and storage devices at the current time point is displayed in the right pane.
      • Click . The KPIs of the nodes related to the disk SAN path are displayed.
        • When you move the pointer to a performance graph, the performance data of each KPI at the same time point is displayed.
        • Click a point in the performance graph. The performance data of each KPI at the current time point is displayed in details on the right.
