This section describes the detailed operation process of performance management.

Set protocol parameters on the device: SNMP and NETCONF.

SNMP parameters are used to add devices to eSight. NETCONF is used to collect VXLAN tunnel packet information. Set different protocol parameters based on the site requirements.


(Optional) Enable the VXLAN tunnel packet statistics function on the device.

Users can use eSight to collect and view VXLAN tunnel packet information only after the VXLAN tunnel packet statistics function on the device supporting VXLAN.


Add devices to eSight.

Select a proper device addition mode based on the site requirements.


Set NETCONF parameters on eSight.

VXLAN tunnel packet information is synchronized to eSight through NETCONF. To facilitate subsequent operations, you need to set NETCONF parameters on eSight.


NETCONF parameter settings on eSight must be the same as those on the device.

When devices use the same NETCONF parameters, you can create a NETCONF template to set NETCONF parameters for these devices in batches.


Create a performance task.

By default, eSight provides a performance data collection task to improve O&M efficiency. If the task does not meet performance data collection needs, you can create tasks based on site requirements.


View performance data.

You can view performance data and graphic performance trend views of resources. The performance data provides a basis for network optimization, which facilitates network O&M personnel in taking timely measures to avoid latent faults.


Customize a performance monitoring portlet.

You can save a historical performance view that concerns you as a home page portlet, which facilitates you in monitoring historical performance on the home page.
