The storage network analysis component is a professional monitoring and analysis tool dedicated to SAN storage network environments.

Functions

The storage network analysis function provides professional tools for monitoring and analyzing SAN storage network environments. By displaying the application and host heat map, applications and host hotspot charts, the system allows users to view the average IOPS and latency of applications and hosts in the last 24 hours, helping users identify applications and hosts with low service response efficiency.

Checking the Storage Network Analysis View

On the storage network analysis view, users can intuitively view the average IOPS and delay of applications and hosts in the last 24 hours.

Host Path Graph

During network analysis, users can directly switch from the host network analysis view to the host path diagram of the target host to view the mapping between the select hosts, applications, and storage resources.

The host path graph illustrates the mapping among the hosts, applications, disks, ports, switches, disk arrays, storage controllers, storage devices, and LUNs. By viewing alarms in the view, users can easily locate and analyze alarms and faults in the topology.

The performance analysis page on the host path diagram displays the delay performance curve of the current disk. In addition, the page displays the fault demarcation analysis conclusion based on historical delay data.

Application Restrictions

  • Only eSight that is equipped with Storage Device Manager and host management component can use the storage network analysis function.
  • The fault demarcation and analysis functions depend on the delay threshold configured on the host.
  • The host heat map displays only hosts that are connected through an agent.
  • Currently, storage network analysis does not support the DST function.
