What's the requirement for SLA source device and SLA destination device

Question

What's the requirement for SLA source device and SLA destination device?

Answer

  • In eSight V200R003C00 or earlier versions, SLA source devices must be Huawei devices or H3C devices that support the NQA feature. In eSight V200R003C01 or later versions, SLA source devices can also be Cisco devices that support the IPSLA feature. For UDP Echo, UDP Jitter, and TCP Connect test cases, SLA destination devices have the same requirement as SLA source devices.
  • SLA source device needs to be added to eSight. SLA destination device does not need to be added to eSight.

Question

Why UDP test cases diagnosis failed while ICMP test cases passed?

Answer

For UDP Echo, UDP Jitter, and TCP Connect test cases, you need to enable udpserver or tcpserver on the destination device. For example, configure nqa-server udpecho 10.137.59.235 33434 on the destination device. If it is a VPN network, vpn-instance needs to be configured. Example: nqa-server udpecho vpn-instance vpna 10.137.59.235 33434
