Managing Cameras Uniformly Based on the Portal

You can monitor the camera status and KPIs in real time to understand the camera status timely, facilitating camera management.

Prerequisites

Video surveillance devices and cameras have been added to eSight.

Viewing Service Overview

  1. Choose Resource > Video Surveillance from the main menu.
  2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Overview.
  3. View important counters of top N IVS devices monitored on the entire network to detect device faults promptly and implement service recovery quickly.

    You can click Customize at the upper right corner of the Overview page to select the portlets that can be displayed on the home page.

Monitoring the PU Status

  1. Choose Resource > Video Surveillance from the main menu.
  2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Resource Management > Peripheral Unit.
  3. View and export offline and device information about PUs.

Monitoring the Camera Status

  • Monitor the camera status on the resource management page
    1. Choose Resource > Video Surveillance from the main menu.
    2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Resource Management > Camera.
    3. View and export offline camera information, device information, and maintenance information.
    4. Click next to a camera to view details about the camera on the offline rate statistics, yesterday quality data, and maintenance information tab pages.
  • Monitor the camera status through the quality map
    1. Choose Resource > Video Surveillance from the main menu.
    2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Monitoring Management > Quality Map.
    3. Click the area name next to the search box at the upper left corner, select an area to be queried, and double-click the name of the area.
    4. Click Statistics at the upper right corner to view camera surveillance information.
    5. View the online statistics on cameras in the group.
      NOTE:

      You can also set the monitoring threshold of the camera KPI by choosing Resource > Video Surveillance from the main menu and then choose Video Surveillance > System Settings > Parameter Settings from the navigation tree on the left. For details, see Setting Parameters.

  • Monitor the camera status on the home page portal
    1. Choose Home from the main menu.
    2. Click , click the IVS tab, and click on the Camera Statistics or Camera Offline Rate Trend portlet.

      View the network-wide camera status or the Camera Offline Rate Trend portlet on the portal.

    3. (Optional) Set parameters for monitoring the camera status.
      1. Click .
      2. Set Refresh Interval and Group.

        After you select a group, the status or the offline rate trend of all cameras in the group is displayed on the portlet.

        If you want to monitor the status or the offline rate trend of cameras in multiple groups, create multiple Camera Statistics or Camera Offline Rate Trend portlets and set the groups accordingly.

Monitoring the Camera KPIs in Real Time

  1. Choose Resource > Video Surveillance from the main menu.
  2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Video Surveillance > Overview.
  3. In Overview, check the camera KPI monitoring information.

    NOTE:
    • If the portlet shown in Table 15-7 is not displayed in Overview, you can click Customize at the upper right corner of Overview and select portlets to be displayed.
    • You can also monitor camera KPIs on the home portal.
      1. Choose Home from the main menu.
      2. Click , click the IVS tab, and click corresponding to the portlets described in Table 15-7.

        You can check the camera KPI monitoring information on the portal.

    Description

    Camera Online Rate Rankings

    • This area displays the rankings of cameras by online rate. For details about the settings and meanings of colors in the rankings view, see Setting Parameters.
    • You can click at the upper right corner of the view to set the number of records to be displayed, camera area to be monitored, and refresh frequency of statistics.

    • To monitor the rankings of camera online rates of multiple areas, you need to create multiple Camera Online Rate Rankings portlets and set corresponding areas.

    Camera Online Rate Trend

    • This area displays the change trend of the camera online rate in a period. For details about the settings and meanings of colors in the trend view, see Setting Parameters.
    • You can click at the upper right corner of the view to set the camera group to be monitored, refresh frequency of the statistics, and period.

    • To monitor the camera online rate trend of multiple areas, you need to create multiple Camera Online Rate Trend portlets and set corresponding groups.
