Server Performance Management

This section describes how to collect server performance data.

Server Performance Indicator Data Collection

This operation allows eSight to collect real-time and historical performance data of servers.

Before viewing NE average CPU Usage, NE average Memory Usage, Disk Usage, and Bandwidth Usage Percent, ensure that the iBMA software has been installed. For details about the installation, see "Installing and Uninstalling iBMA" in the iBMA User Guide.

  • Under Monitoring Settings > Device, you can view the performance indicators NE average CPU Usage and NE average Memory Usage. If performance data of more than 1000 servers is collected, you are advised to set the collection period to five minutes or longer.
  • Under Monitoring Settings > Server, you can view performance indicators including the PSU power, fan speed, fan speed percentage, intake temperature, heat, device power, network bandwidth usage, CPU temperature, hard disk usage, and others. If performance data of more than 1000 servers is collected, you are advised to set the collection period to 15 minutes or longer.

  1. In the server list, click in the Operation column of the target server to reload the server information. Check whether data is collected properly.

    • If yes, the problem is solved.
    • If no, go to 2.

  2. Create a performance indicator data collection task.

    1. On the menu bar, choose Performance > Monitoring Settings.
    2. In the left navigation tree, select a resource type, click Create in the area on the right, and configure the data collection task on the page displayed.
    3. Click OK.

The system starts collecting performance indicator data.
