Device Adaptation Management

Device Adaptation Management

A method is provided for adapting eSight to devices, and the adaptation packages are separated from the eSight software and can be loaded on demand, reducing the software package size.

Context

eSight provides the centralized online management and O&M functions for device adaptation packages, and uses the adaptation layer solution to address the version interoperability with NEs. After an NE upgrade, users only need to install the adaptation layer of the NE version to manage the new NE version, without a linked eSight and NE upgrade that causes service interruptions. During an adaptation package installation, eSight provides network management services properly. The installation of a new adaptation package has no impact on online users who do not use the adaptation package.

Only devices developed by Huawei are supported and the adaptation package must meet the enterprise wireless interface specifications.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight client.
  • You have been assigned the operation rights.
  • You have obtained the adaptation package file.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > eLTE > eLTE System Settings > Device Adaptation Management from the main menu.

Perform the following operations on the Device Adaptation Management page.

    Task

    Operation

    Install

Click . On the displayed page, click in Adaptation Package Path and choose a device adaptation package. Click OK.
    NOTE:
    • For details about the adaption package, see the release notes of each NE.
    • By default, the maximum number of uploaded adaptation package files is 100.

    Delete

You can perform this operation to delete device adaptation packages.

    • Delete a single device adaptation package.
      1. Click in the Operation column of the target adaptation package.
      2. Click OK in the Warn dialog box.
    • Delete device adaptation packages in a batch.
      1. In the adaptation package list, select the adaptation packages to be deleted.
      2. Click .
      3. Click OK in the Warn dialog box.

Precautions

  • Local /Remote High Availability System (SUSE Linux + Oracle + Veritas)
  1. eSight automatically restarts after the device adaptation package is deleted. To prevent the switchover to the standby node, log in to the active node as the root user before uninstalling the adaptation package, and the following command to freeze AppService resources:

    # hagrp -freeze AppService -sys Host name

  2. After the eSight restart is completed, run the following command to unfreeze the resources:
    NOTE:

Before unfreezing the resources, ensure that eSight has restarted, which may take 10 to 20 minutes.

    # hagrp -unfreeze AppService -sys Host name

  • Local High Availability System Software Installation Guide (SUSE Linux + MySQL + OMMHA)
  1. eSight automatically restarts after the device adaptation package is deleted. To prevent the switchover to the standby node, log in to the active node as the ossuser user before uninstalling the adaptation package, and run the following command to disable the switchover:

    /opt/ommha/ha/bincd >

    > ./forbidden_switch.sh forbidden 30

30 in the preceding command indicates that the switchover is disabled for 30 minutes.

  2. After the eSight restart is completed, run the following command to enable the switchover.
    NOTE:

Before enabling the switchover, ensure that eSight has restarted, which may take 10 to 20 minutes.

    /opt/ommha/ha/bincd >

    > ./forbidden_switch.sh cancel

  • Local High Availability System (EulerOS + GaussDB + OMMHA)
  1. eSight automatically restarts after the device adaptation package is deleted.
