How Should I Configure the Configuration File When the eSight Has Multiple Network Adapters

Question

Generally, the eSight has only one network adapter. To ensure that devices can be connected to and managed by the eSight properly when the eSight has more than one network adapter, you need to configure the eSight configuration file.

Answer

The operations on the Linux operating system and Windows are similar. The Linux is taken as an example.

  1. Log in to the eSight server as the ossuser user.
  2. Enable listening on all the IP addresses of the eSight.

    cd eSight installation directory/AppBase/etc

    vi oms.xml

    The following information is displayed:

    <param name="enableListenAllIP">true</param>

Set enableListenAllIP to true to enable listening on all the IP addresses of the eSight.

  3. Enable listening on all the IP addresses of the device interactive node.

    cd eSight installation directory/AppBase/sysagent/etc/sysconf/svcbase

    vi med_node_1_svc.xml

    The following information is displayed:

    <param name="nodeIP">0.0.0.0</param>

Set nodeIP to 0.0.0.0 to enable listening on all the IP addresses of the device interactive node.

  4. Set all the listening IP addresses of the webserver.roa.inst.xml file to 0.0.0.0.

    cd eSight installation directory/AppBase/etc/iemp.framework

    vi webserver.roa.inst.xml

Modify all the listening IP addresses of the webserver.roa.inst.xml file to 0.0.0.0.

  5. Set the registration IP address of the file server so that IP phones can properly download the configuration file.

    cd eSight installation directory/AppBase/etc/tms

    vi upgrade.properties

    The following information is displayed:

    http.server.ipaddr=192.168.3.60

Set http.server.ipaddr to an IP address that the eSight can use to communicate with IP phones, that is, an IP address that can be used to ping an IP phone on the eSight.
