Adding a Single Telepresence Meeting Device

If you need to add only a small number of telepresence meeting devices to the system, you can add them one by one.

Adding a Single Terminal

You can add terminals on the eSight one by one or using the automatic discovery function.

Prerequisites

Terminal protocol parameters have been set. For details, see Setting Protocol Parameters for Terminals.

Procedure

Terminals connected to eSight include 9000-series terminals, TE-series terminals, and DP300 desktop telepresence terminals. The following uses the 9000-series terminal (terminal for short) as an example:

  1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu. In the navigation tree on the left, select Add Resource > Add Resource.
  2. Select Videoconferencing Device and select VCT.
  3. Set VCT parameters according to Table 16-7.

    IP address of the terminal server.

    Set this parameter to the value of Port that is set on the terminal.

    Security Name

    User security name.

    Set this parameter to the user name configured on the terminal.

    Authentication Protocol

    Algorithm that the terminal uses to authenticate the eSight.

    Set this parameter to the value of Authentication protocol that is set on the terminal.

    The default value is HMAC_SHA.

    Authentication Key

    Password that the terminal uses to authenticate the eSight.

    Set this parameter to the authentication password configured on the terminal.

    Privacy Protocol

    Algorithm used for data encryption during the communication between the eSight and the terminal.

    Set this parameter to the encryption protocol configured on the terminal.

    The default value is AES128.

    Privacy Key

    Password that the eSight uses to parse the encrypted data when communicating with the terminal.

    Set this parameter to the encryption password configured on the terminal.

    Timeout Period (s):

    Timeout period, within which the device must respond to the message sent by the eSight. If the device does not respond within the timeout period, the eSight considers that the device does not exist.

    The default value is 30.

  4. Click OK.

    NOTE:

    To create more devices, click Apply.

    • If the device has been created successfully, the AddMO Success dialog box is displayed. Click OK in the dialog box.
    • If the device fails to be created, the Error dialog box is displayed, showing the failure cause. Click OK in the dialog box and set device parameters again.

Operation Result

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu.
  2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Network Element Device Management > Telepresence Conference > Videoconferencing Device. The VCT that you have added is displayed in the management object list on the right.

Adding a Single MCU

You can add multipoint control units (MCUs) to eSight one by one or using the automatic discovery function.

Prerequisites

MCU protocol parameters have been set. For details, see Setting Protocol Parameters for MCU Devices.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu. In the navigation tree on the left, select Add Resource > Add Resource.
  2. Select Videoconferencing Device and select MCU.
  3. Set MCU parameters according to Table 16-8.

Adding a Single Telepresence Device

Telepresence devices include three-screen, single-screen, and room presence (RP) devices. You can add the RP devices and terminals to the eSight in the same way and add three-screen and single-screen telepresence devices to the eSight in the same way. You can add telepresence devices on the eSight one by one.

Prerequisites

Telepresence Device protocol parameters have been set. For details, see Setting Protocol Parameters for Telepresence Devices.

Procedure

Here, three-screen telepresence devices are used as examples.

  1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu. In the navigation tree on the left, select Add Resource > Add Resource.
  2. Select Videoconferencing Device and select TP.
  3. Set TP parameters according to Table 16-9.

    Set this parameter to the administrator password that is set on the central control host.

    Alarm Authentication Name

    Alarm user configured on the central control host.

    Set this parameter to the alarm user name configured on the central control host.

    Alarm Authentication Password

    The central control host can report alarms only when the correct alarm password is configured on eSight.

    Set this parameter to the alarm password configured on the central control host.

    SNMP

    NOTE:

    The SNMP protocol parameter configuration is used as an example here. You can configure protocol parameters on the left and right terminals in the same way.

    Port

    Port that the main terminal to receive requests from the eSight.

    The default value is 161.

    Set this parameter to the value of Port that is set on the terminal.

    Security Name

    User security name.

    Set this parameter to the value of Security name that is set on the main terminal.

Adding a Single GK

You can add gatekeepers (GKs) on the eSight one by one or using the automatic discovery function.

Prerequisites

GK protocol parameters have been set. For details, see Setting Protocol Parameters for GKs.

Context

The GK devices can only use SNMPv2c to communicate with eSight. Exercise caution when using the SNMPv2c protocol because it may bring security risks.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu. In the navigation tree on the left, select Add Resource > Add Resource.
  2. Select Videoconferencing Device and select GK.
  3. Set GK parameters according to Table 16-10.

    • If the device has been created successfully, the AddMO Success dialog box is displayed. Click OK in the dialog box.
    • If the device fails to be created, the Error dialog box is displayed, showing the failure cause. Click OK in the dialog box and set device parameters again.

Operation Result

  1. Choose Resource > Collaboration Resource from the main menu.
  2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Network Element Device Management > Telepresence Conference > Videoconferencing Device. The GK that you have added is displayed in the management object list on the right.

Adding a Single RSE

You can add RSE devices to eSight one by one.

Prerequisites

RSE protocol parameters have been set. For details, see Setting Protocol Parameters for RSE.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu. In the navigation tree on the left, select Add Resource > Add Resource.
  2. Select Videoconferencing Device and select RSE.
  3. Set RSE parameters according to Table 16-11.

You can add enterprise unified addressbook (EUA) on the eSight one by one.

EUA protocol parameters have been set. For details, see Setting Protocol Parameters for EUA.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > Common from the main menu. In the navigation tree on the left, select Add Resource > Add Resource.
  2. Select Videoconferencing Device and select EUA.
  3. Set EUA parameters according to Table 16-12.
