Detecting the Network Performance

Detecting the Network Performance

eSight provides two ways to detect the network performance: Dashboard and quick diagnosis. You can view the network quality of network-wide services or services in a specific region on the Dashboard. The quick diagnosis function initiates diagnosis on a link between the source and destination devices as well as the services transmitted over the link to quickly locate network faults.

Checking a Dashboard

  1. Choose Resource > Network > Business > SLA Management from the main menu.

  2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose SLA Management > Dashboard.
  3. Create a dashboard.

    1. Click at the upper right corner of the page.
    2. On the page that is displayed, set the dashboard name and filtering criteria.
    3. Click OK.

  4. Add a portlet.

    1. Click Customize at the upper right corner of the page.
    2. In the dialog box that is displayed, click to add a portlet on a dashboard or click to remove a portlet from the dashboard.

  5. Click hidden in the portlet title row, set parameters, and check the monitoring.

Performing Quick Diagnosis

  1. Choose Resource > Network > Business > SLA Management from the main menu.

  2. In the navigation tree, choose SLA Management > Quick Diagnosis.
  3. Set parameters in the Task Basic Settings area.

    1. Select an SLA service from the Service Name drop-down list box. If no service meets the requirements, create a service on the SLA Service page.
    2. Set Source Device to the source device IP address and Destination IP to the IP address and port number of the destination device.

  4. Set test instance parameters.

The number of test instances to be configured depends on the service selected in Task Basic Settings and the test instances that are supported by the source device.

For details about test instance parameters, see the device feature description document.

  5. Click Diagnose. The execution status, connection status, and other diagnosis parameters are displayed.
