Storage Device Performance Report

Storage Device Performance Report

Storage device performance reports display the performance data of all Huawei storage devices. The reports can be exported.

Procedure

  1. Choose Report > Report from the menu.
  2. Choose Storage Report > Performance Report > Storage Device Performance Report.

    NOTE:
    • The report can be exported on the format of word 2007, excel 2007, and pdf. The statistic charts are exported as figures, and lists are exported as tables.
    • If the statistic period is set to one day, the chart displays the I/O response time (unit: minute). The average value, maximum value, and minimum value are not calculated. If the statistic period is set to one week, the average value and maximum value are calculated by hour. If the statistic period is longer than one week, the average value and maximum value are calculated by day.

  3. View storage device performance reports displaying data in different statistical periods.

    • Top 5 Controller Average I/O Response time: displays controller data ranking top 5 in I/O average response time.
    • Top 5 Controller Throughput(IOPS): displays controller data ranking top 5 in IOPS.
    • Top 5 Controller Bandwidth: displays controller data ranking top 5 in bandwidth.
    • Top 5 Controller CPU Usage: displays controller data ranking top 5 in CPU usage.
    NOTE:
    • In the storage device performance report, you can select different time segments to view capacity in the recent one day, one week, one month, three months, and customized periods.
    • Statistical period 1 day is used as an example to illustrate the data in the same period of history. If the time is set to 10:00 on April 5 with Same period of history selected, curves display the comparison of two periods are displayed, which are Current (10:00 on April 4 to 10:00 on April 5) and History (10:00 on April 3 to 10:00 on April 4). The solid line indicates capacity data in the current period, while the dashed line indicates capacity data in the historical period.
    • In the curve chart, you can select a time range using the mouse to view the data in the selected time range on the current curve chart.
      • The time dimension of the data displayed on the page is automatically adjusted based on the current time dimension and page time range.
      • After you select the Same period of history check box at the upper right corner of the curve chart, the displayed data contains that in the parallel comparison period corresponding to the selected time range. Data in the parallel comparison period is displayed in dotted lines.
      • After you select a legend, only the data of the current legend is displayed after the selection operation. You can use the mouse to display the data of other legends.
      • You can double-click the curve chart to display the original status of the curve chart when the page is opened.

  4. Click the Low I/O Resource Statistics tab.

Resources are ranked in descending order based on I/O-less duration time. The I/O-less duration is the maximum duration when the I/O is 0 in the eSight performance statistics.

  5. Click the Device List tab.

    NOTE:
    • If the Whether the Latest column is displayed as Yes, the latest information about the resource is displayed. If the Whether the Latest column is displayed as No, the information before the resource change is displayed.
    • After the resource is renamed or the associated resource is changed, the resource information before and after the change will be displayed in two columns in the table. The Whether the Latest column before and after the change is displayed as No and yes, respectively.
    • After the resource is deleted, information about the resource is displayed in the table and the Whether the Latest column is displayed as No.
    • When a key counter in the table reaches the major threshold, the counter value is displayed in orange. When a counter reaches the critical threshold, the counter value is displayed in red.
    • The device list page displays the used capacity curve of the device based on the selected statistical period. For example, if Statistical period is set to 1 day, each hour on the last day is displayed as a point in the curve. If Statistical period is set to 1 week, each day is displayed as a point in the curve. If Statistical period is set to other values, each day is displayed as a point in the curve.

  6. Click the name of a device.

    • Controller Bandwidth: displays bandwidths of all controllers of the current storage device.
    • Controller Throughput(IOPS): displays IOPS of all controllers of the current storage device.
    • Controller Average I/O Latency: displays I/O latency of all controllers of the current storage device.
    • Controller CPU Usage: displays CPU usage of all controllers of the current storage device.
    • Top 5 Disk Average I/O Latency: displays controller data ranking top 5 in I/O latency of disks on the current storage device.
    • Top 5 Front Host Port Usage: displays front end host ports ranking top 5 in usage of front-end host ports of the current storage device.

  7. View performance data of controllers, ports, LUNs, and file systems of the current storage device in the following table.

    1. Click the Controller tab.

Performance data and predicted performance data of the controllers are displayed in two tables, respectively.

    2. Click the Port tab.

Performance data and predicted performance data of the ports are displayed in two tables, respectively.

Click the name of a port. The average read/write I/O response time, read/write bandwidth, and read/write throughout IOPS charts of the port are displayed.

    3. Click the LUN tab.

Click the name of a LUN. Read/write bandwidth, and read/write throughput (IOPS) data of the current LUN are displayed.

    4. Click the File System tab.

Click the name of a file system. Read/Write Average OPS Latency, Read/Write Bandwidth, and Read/Write OPS data charts of the current file system are displayed.
