Task Management

This section describes how to back up and restore configuration files of industry terminals and eNodeB devices.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in to the eSight client.
  • Online devices exist on eSight.
  • You have been assigned the operation rights.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resource > eLTE > Configuration File Management > Task Management from the main menu.
  2. Click to create a task.

    1. Set Task Name in Task Settings.
      1. If Task Object is set to Industry terminal, set Task type and Execution Strategy.
      2. If Task Object is set to eNodeB, set Device type, Task type, and Execution Strategy. To set the encryption password, set the encryption switch to ON and manually set the password. Otherwise, set the encryption switch to OFF.
        NOTE:
        • If Task type is set to Restore for the eNodeB, specify whether to enable the immediate activation function. If yes, the task delivers the activation command immediately after the version file is downloaded. You can also manually perform activation on the task details page.
        • By default, backup configuration files of industry terminals are encrypted.
        • Encryption backup is recommended for eNodeB devices.
        • The execution policy is as follows: If the task is a scheduled task, you need to set the scheduled time for executing the task. If the task is a periodic task, you need to set the start time and interval for executing the task.

  3. Select devices and files.

    1. Click in Select Device and select managed objects on the page that is displayed.
      1. If Task Object is set to Industry terminal and Task type is set to Backup, you do not need to add the target file.
      2. If Task Object is set to Industry terminal and Task type is set to Restore, select the required file from the Target File drop-down list.
        NOTE:

        You can use the default target file. Sorting rules as shown below.

      3. If Task Object is set to eNodeB and Task type is set to Backup, you do not need to add the target file.
      4. If Task Object is set to eNodeB and Task type is set to Restore, select the required file from the Target File drop-down list and set the decryption password for the task.

        To set the decryption password, perform the following operations:

        • Setting the decryption password for a task
          1. Click in the Operation column of the target task.
          2. In the dialog box that is displayed, set Start decryption.
          3. Click OK.
        • Setting the decryption password for tasks in batches
          1. Select tasks for which the decryption password needs to be set.
          2. Select Setting Selected or Setting All from the Set the Decryption Password drop-down list.
          3. In the dialog box that is displayed, set Start decryption.
          4. Click OK.
    2. Click OK.

  4. Click OK.

Follow-up Procedure

After the configuration file task is created successfully, you can perform the following operations on the Task Management page.

Query task

You can perform this operation to query information about configuration file loading tasks.

  1. Click and set the search criteria on the page that is displayed.

  2. Set the search criteria, including the task object, task type, creation time, task status, and execution policy.
  3. Set Device IPaddress, Device Name, and Task Name next to More.
  4. Click Search. Information about configuration file loading is displayed on the current page.
  5. Click a task name. Information about the queried task is displayed on a new page.

Save task

You can perform this operation to remove and save configuration tasks before clearing it.

  • Save a single configuration file loading task.
    1. Click in the Operation column of the target task.
    2. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.
  • Save multiple configuration file loading tasks in a batch.
    1. Select the tasks you want to delete.
    2. Click Archive above the task list.
    3. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.

Stop task

You can perform this operation to stop configuration file loading tasks.

  • Stop a single task.
    1. Click in the Operation column of the target task.
    2. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.
  • Stop multiple tasks in a batch.
    1. Select the tasks you want to stop.
    2. Click Stop above the task list.
    3. Click Yes in the Confirm dialog box.

Export task

You can perform this operation to export the configuration file loading task for a backup if necessary.

  1. Click in the Operation column of the target task.
  2. Select a path for saving the configuration file and click Save.

Set parameters

  1. Click Set at the upper part of the table.
  2. Set Automatic retry count, Timeout (min), and Total Cell Concurrency in the Parameters setting for industry terminal configuration and backup and Parameters setting for eNodeB configuration and backup area and click Confirm.
NOTE:

The industry terminal parameters and industry terminal upgrade management parameters are stored in the same data table and affect each other.

The eNodeB backup parameters and eNodeB upgrade management parameters are stored in the same data table and affect each other.

Set columns displayed on the task management page

You can perform this operation to set the task list display information.

  1. Click in the last column of the table title row.
  2. In the dialog box that is displayed, move titles from Available Columns to Selected Columns and click OK.
