Adding Devices to eSight

eSight can manage the NDE device, for example, obtaining information from the NDE device, only after you add the device to it.

1. Set protocol parameters on the device: (NetStream and SNMP)

NetStream parameter settings vary with the device type, and are not described in detail here. If you are not clear about settings, choose Traffic Config > Navigation and click to view the configuration.

For details about how to configure the SNMP protocol on the device, see Configuring the SNMP Protocol on Devices.

2. Add devices to eSight.

eSight can manage devices and monitor interfaces on the devices, APs connected to the devices, and the VXLAN tunnels only after you add the devices to it.

Setting NetStream Parameters on Devices

NetStream parameters are set on devices to enable the devices to report traffic statistics to the NTC.

This section uses typical Huawei devices as an example. For other device models, see the corresponding configuration manual.

  • Huawei S9700 NetStream V5 is taken as an example.
