Operation

Description

1

Set SNMP, Telnet, and NetConf protocol parameters on the device.

The MIB view must be configured for SNMP parameters, including the ISO node. Both the read and write permissions need to be configured for SNMPv2c.

Telnet/Netconf parameters: You can configure and manage devices on eSight through Telnet or Netconf.

2

Add devices to eSight.

Select a proper mode for adding devices based on the site requirements.

3

(Optional) Activate a data source.

eSight checks the memory of the server where the report component is installed as follows:

  • If the server memory is smaller than 14 GB, to ensure the overall system performance, eSight automatically activates only some data sources by default. Other data sources are activated manually based on service requirements.
  • If the server memory is larger than or equal to 14 GB, the menu is not displayed. You do not need to manually activate data sources. All data sources are activated automatically by default.

4

Understand the report.

eSight provides a large number of predefined agile reports based on typical scenarios and user habits. Users do not need to create and set agile reports.

For details about predefined reports, see the Specification List.

5

(Optional) Create a report.

If agile reports predefined on eSight do not meet service requirements, use either of the following methods to modify the reports:

  • Drag and drop measurements and dimensions to modify the reports and save them.
  • Create new reports based on available data sources.

6

View reports.

Data is displayed in various formats on eSight, enabling you to gain insights into data and improve analysis efficiency.

7

Filter data and analyze trends.

Perform data filtering and trend analysis to quickly gain insight into the data change trend.

8

Set a periodic task.

After email notification is configured and a periodic task is set, eSight periodically sends report details in specified formats to users' mailboxes for query.

9

Create a dashboard based on multiple associated reports.

The dashboard can display associated reports on one page, facilitating report analysis and improving the efficiency and quality of report data analysis.

10

Customize report display.

The agile report logo can be customized. The logo is displayed in the exported report file. You can configure the busy time segment of the report.
