Introduction to Performance Indicator Template Files

The following templates provide the performance indicator configuration files of some NEs. For details about the performance indicator configuration items of all NEs, see the Performance Indicator List.xlsx released with the version.

Table 5-40 Performance indicator templates

Template

Description

Network template

Performance_Indicator_Template.zip

Each template package contains the following files:
  1. Indicator template file export_*.xml in <Directory to which the package is decompressed>/indicator.template, which defines performance indicators to be exported
  2. Export rule file *_rule_north.xml in <Directory to which the package is decompressed>/, which defines the types of devices whose indicator data is to be exported to the northbound file

Storage management template

Performance_Indicator_Template_IT_Storage.zip

Server management template

Performance_Indicator_Template_IT_Server.zip

Virtual resource management (FS/FC/vCenter/ESX) template Virtual_Performance_Indicator_Template.zip

Indicator template file pm_export.xml in <Directory to which the package is decompressed>/, which defines performance indicators to be exported

Virtual resource management (third-party OpenStack) template Performance_Indicator_Template_3rd_openStack.zip

NOTE:

V300R010C00SPC500 does not support virtual resource management (3rd Openstack).

Indicator template file rhos_pm_export.xml in <Directory to which the package is decompressed>/, which defines performance indicators to be exported

Video surveillance management template

Performance_Indicator_Template_IVS.zip

Indicator template file export_IVS.xml in <Directory to which the package is decompressed>/, which defines performance indicators to be exported

Enterprise communication management template

Performance_Indicator_Template_EC.zip

Indicator template file export_EC.xml in <Directory to which the package is decompressed>/, which defines performance indicators to be exported

Usage Instruction on Performance Indicator Templates

  • The following uses exporting of Huawei AR1220's CAR values as an example to describe how to use a performance indicator template:
    1. Decompress Performance Indicator Template.zip to <eSight installation directory> /AppBase/etc/oms.nbi/pm.
    2. Delete other for_export_*_north.xml rule files except for_export_QoS_rule_north.xml. Delete the other QoS indicator templates except export_QoS_CAR.xml from the for_export_QoS_rule_north.xml file, and set the device attribute to {Huawei}AR1220.

    <export file="/indicator.template/QoS/export_QoS_CAR.xml" device="{Huawei}AR1220" />

    • The device attribute indicates the device type. You can set multiple device types and separate them with commas (,). If the device attribute is set to the wildcard (*), all device types are supported. For the detailed rule, see instruction in the Introduction to Performance Indicator Template.xls.
    1. Delete other indicators except the CAR value from the indicator.template/QoS/export_QoS_CAR.xml file.
      <index resourceType="qoscar">
      <measUnit key="QoSCarStatistics">
      <!--CAR value-->
      <measType key="passBits"/>
      </measUnit>
      </index>
    1. Restart eSight.
  • For details about virtual resource (FS/FC/vCenter/ESX) configuration, see "Maintenance Reference > Configuration Files > Virtual Resource Management > pm_export.xml" in the eSight Maintenance Guide. For details about the performance data storage duration configuration, see "Maintenance Reference > Configuration Files > Virtual Resource Management > nbi_cbb_virtual.xml" in the eSight Maintenance Guide.
