Set User Permissions

Set User Permissions

This section describes how to set user permissions for Open APIs.

The openapi role has the permission to call the open APIs, it can operate all NEs, but cannot operate the front end page.

Because open APIs will authenticate users, administrators need to perform the following steps to set the permissions for users who call open APIs:

  1. Choose System > Administration > User Management from the main menu.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose User.
  3. On the User page, click Create.
  4. On the displayed page, set the basic information.

    1. In the Basic Info step, set User name.
    2. Click Setting, Set Password and Confirm password, click OK.
    3. Set Account status to Enabled.
    4. Set Type to OpenAPI user.
    5. Set Description.
    6. Click Next.

  5. On the displayed page, set the role to Open API user group to give the user the permissions to use Open APIs. Click Next.
  6. On the displayed page, set an access control policy for the user. The user can log in the eSight by using a specified Internet Protocol (IP) address within the specified period of time. Click Finish.

If you need to call the interfaces about role or user in SM, you must have the operation permissions on the System > User Management page.

Because new operation permissions are required when the interfaces about role or user in SM are called, and it is not allowed to edit the operation permissions of the openapi role, administrators need to add new roles and set operation permissions for users who call open APIs. The following describes how to add the operation permissions on the System > User Management page:

  1. Choose System > Administration > User Management from the main menu.
  2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Role.
  3. On the Role page, click Create.
  4. Set the basic information on the displayed page.

    1. In the Basic Info step, set Role name and Description.
    2. Select the user created in the previous step 4 from the user list.
    3. Click Next.

  5. Click Next.
  6. Select operations to make the role have the specified operation permissions.

    1. In the Select Operations step, click Add.
    2. In the Select Operations dialog box, select operations System > User Management. Click OK.
    3. Click Next.

  7. Summary.

    1. In the Summary step, check the role settings.
    2. Click Finish.
