SNMP NBI Fails to Be Enabled

SNMP NBI Fails to Be Enabled

Symptom

The SNMP NBI fails to start after the SNMP NBI is installed.

Possible Causes

The port configured for the SNMP NBI (port 4700 by default) is used by another process.

Solution

  1. Check whether the port configured for the SNMP NBI is used by another process.

Run netstat -an to check the enabled service ports.

    • On Linux, run netstat -an | grep Port ID to check the status of a port.

For example, Run netstat -an | grep 4700 to check the status of port 4700.

    • On Windows, run netstat -an | find "Port ID" to check the status of a port.

For example: Run netstat -an | find "4700" to check the status of port 4700.

  2. If the SNMP port is occupied by another process, negotiate with the third-party system administrator to change the port used by the SNMP NBI. If the port cannot be changed, stop the process that uses the port after ensuring that the process is not being used.
