Verifying Configurations

Verifying Configurations

This section describes how to check whether the northbound FTP interface is configured successfully.

Verifying Active File Upload of eSight (push)

In the nbi.xml file, the value of the IsPush configuration item is 1. Perform the following steps to verify the configuration:

  1. Wait at least one period for generating performance files and check whether related files exist in the pmdatatemp folder that is specified by the NBIFileStoragePath configuration item in the nbi.xml file.

If no file exists, check the configuration and ensure that performance files are generated properly and uploaded to the specified directory.

If the configuration item NBIFileStoragePath in the nbi.xml file is set to the default value /data/nbi, you can view the performance northbound files with timestamps in <Installation directory>/AppBase/var/iemp/data/nbi/pmdatatemp/PerformanceFiles.

  2. Start the third-party system FTP server and ensure that its IP address, port number, user name, and password are the same as those configured in the nbi.xml file.
  3. On the third-party system FTP server, check whether performance files exist in the directory that is specified by the NMSTopologyFilePath configuration item in the nbi.xml file.

If performance files exist, the eSight northbound FTP interface is configured successfully.

Verifying Active File Obtaining of the third-party system (pull)

In the nbi.xml file, the value of the IsPush configuration item is 0. Perform the following steps to verify the configuration:

  1. Use an FTP client to log in to the eSight FTP server.
  2. Download performance files from the northbound FTP server.
  3. View performance file information.

If the performance information is correct, the eSight northbound FTP interface is configured successfully.
