What Do I Do If Some Fields in the Alarms Reported by eSight Are Displayed as Garbled Characters?

What Do I Do If Some Fields in the Alarms Reported by eSight Are Displayed as Garbled Characters?

eSight connects to third-party systems through the SNMP northbound interface and uses the default encoding format UTF-8 to send traps. After the third-party system receives a trap and decompresses it, garbled characters are displayed.

  1. Change the trap encoding format in the eSight installation directory\AppBase\etc\nbi\snmp\snmpagent.xml file from UTF-8 to the encoding format that is the same as that of the third-party system. For example, if the third-party system uses the GBK decoding format, change the value of TrapCoding in the configuration file to GBK.

Currently, eSight supports only three encoding formats: UTF-8, ISO-8859-1, and GBK.

  2. Restart eSight.
